Capitol Police investigates US flag with swastika in GOP office

So the rot permeates the entire GOP now, and the rot has a name: MAGA.

'Capitol Police called to investigate US flag with swastika in GOP congressional office'

https://thehill.com/homenews/house/5557742-capitol-police-investigate-swastika

"Politico obtained an image also shared by an Ohio political blogger that showed one of Taylor’s staffers photographed with an American flag containing a swastika depicted in the middle pinned on a wall.

The incident follows reporting by Politico on Tuesday about a group chat of leaders of the Young Republican National Foundation that contained racist and xenophobic language."

There's a generation (or two) these days that haven't a clue about or never heard of Photoshop. It's all about CGI and AI now. Same manipulative and believable nonsense though

Yeah, I'm sure that's why the GOP Congressman is apologizing profusely for what his aide did!🤣

From the linked article in the OP:

"Rep. Dave Taylor (R-Ohio) on Wednesday condemned a symbol on the wall of his Washington, D.C., office, which was reportedly a swastika in the middle of a U.S. flag.

“I am aware of an image that appears to depict a vile and deeply inappropriate symbol near an employee in my office,” Taylor said in a statement. “The content of that image does not reflect the values or standards of this office, my staff, or myself, and I condemn it in the strongest terms.”

“Upon learning of this matter, I immediately directed a thorough investigation alongside Capitol Police, which remains ongoing,” Taylor said. “No further comment will be provided until it has been completed.”"

In my view this guy that posted that abomination in that office should be fired for sure then be forced to watch that Russian movie( come and see )until he understands what the Nazi regime was about.

An American flag with a swastika is protected expression under the First Amendment.  You may not like it, and it's poor taste, but it's not illegal.  Not sure what the cops are going to do.

Is this illegal?  Why would the police get involved?

I agree.

If it is proven to be the real deal, he should be out on his ass tooot sweet and shamed mercilessly.

Personally, I would force him to watch the remake of Snow White and the Barbie movie in rotation until he cracks.

I know you are going to argue until the cows come home.  This is not a issue the police should be involved in.

They are likely looking for whoever defaced it.

One can do what they like to their own flag, but they cannot damage someone else's flag, or a publicly owned flag.

The Dems have Jay Jones running for AG in Virginia and some vile texts he made came to light, so they are flooding the field with all this nonsense.

The last couple of days have been bad for MAGA, very, very bad. So the MAGA fanboys are working overtime talking about one person's messages 3 years ago.

Lame, so lame!😆

But I did.  <BLMFem tries to set the hook............."dang!" Misses!>

“That term is important, because incitement is a doctrine that exempts certain speech from First Amendment protection,” he continued. “However, display of a Nazi flag, without more, doesn’t come close to satisfying the legal test for incitement. Incitement has a very narrow, precise legal meaning: a statement that the speaker knows or should know is likely to directly cause imminent unlawful action. Displaying a Nazi flag can be incitement, but usually it isn’t. In the United States, the vast majority of displays of Nazi flags have not, in fact, caused unlawful action. That’s very strong evidence that the display of a Nazi flag without other, aggravating circumstances doesn’t amount to incitement.”

However, your post probably comes closer to the legal definition of "incitement" than some moron displaying an American flag with a swastika on it.  You far Left progressive types are constantly the pots calling the kettles "black" but the soot that creates the color comes from sitting over the same fire, i.e., the fires of intolerance.

Not sure if the young Republicans - 18 to 40 - racist chat is the worst thing this week or the Vice President giving them a pass as though it's a bit of youthful banter.

One poster asked "why is the police involved"? I asked Grok and was informed that

"On October 15, 2025, an image surfaced showing an altered American flag—featuring red and white stripes rearranged into the shape of a swastika—pinned to a cubicle wall in the Washington, D.C., office of Rep. Dave Taylor (R-Ohio). The flag appeared behind a staffer, Angelo Elia (a legislative correspondent), during a virtual meeting. The photo was first shared by an Ohio political blogger and obtained by Politico. Taylor, a first-term congressman and Trump ally, immediately condemned the display as "vile and deeply inappropriate," stating it does not reflect his values or those of his office. He directed an internal investigation and requested U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) involvement, describing it as potential "foul play or vandalism."

So the police got involved because the GOP Congressman asked them for help.

Jesus H Christ, it's like talking to a particularly dimwitted 5 y/o!🤣
