One note for @Tug, if you want to discuss the king-like powers of the executive branch, you need to look at Congress. Congress has delegated its authority to impose tariffs to the executive branch, and this trend of delegating power has been a common practice. You will never hear the left advocate for restoring the powers and balance between the executive and legislative branches. The reality is that they are comfortable with their preferred leader wielding these king-like powers. This imbalance of power has been occurring since the time of FDR.

If you want to talk about the King's like power, you need to point fingers at Congess. Congress has delegated the power of tariffs to the executive branch.  Congress loves to delegate powers to the executive branch.  You will never see the left talk about restoring the powers and restoring the balance between the executive branch and the legislative branch.  The reality is, they are OK with their guy having king-like powers.  This imbalance of power has been happening since FDR.
