you know, after 79 years on this rock after being born in the US, a staunch Republican family until Nixon, I kind of agree with you, not much hope among the politicians of not only the US but around the world where I have worked and lived.  Guess serving one's country and being honest (non-corrupt) just isn't worth the hassles one has to put up with.  Now I see some wanting to flaunt the constitution and re-elect DJT again but if not I am sure they will gladly back Vance or a junior trumper and IMHO the USA would be totally lost if not even before then.  I am not worried as I am too old but I do have concerns for my family and friends still in the US and trying to survive the current conditions.

Pointing out the ironic disposition of the left isn’t an insult, though it’s understandable that some find it difficult to see their own fractured moral ideology.

The chance of there being a fair mid term election is nil. MAGA are well aware they can never again win the popular vote, so the election will be greatly defrauded.  They will have troops, or more likley Trumps private thug army, intimidating voters at the polls, They are already re-drawing boundaries to increase GOP seats, are in the process of ceasing mail-in voting and are making it difficult for certain communities to register.

MAGA is just getting started in their goal of seizing power and creating an autocracy. Trump, the clown, is just a populous figurehead for the sinister backroom drivers of the movement.
