Fly out on overstay

Featured Replies

What can you expect at the airport if you overstayed 34 years? Pay the 20,000 baht fine, be banned for life, and say goodbye to Thailand? Nothing else? No questions?

The maximum overstay ban when turning yourself in is set at 10 years.

But I don't know if it will be a simple process at the airport the same as someone who has stayed a much shorter duration of time.

Overstay question - now vs then : r/Thailand

As @BrandonJT correctly stated the overstay fine caps out at 20k baht once you hit 40 day overstay.

There is no lifetime ban for overstay it caps at 10 years,

Have the 20k baht in cash, show up and hope for the best.

Pray they don't decide to "make an example of if you"..

There are reports (infrequent as they may be) of people on long overstays being arrested at the airport when they go to fly out, paraded in front of the Thai press, then hauled in front of a judge, banned for 10 years, held in IDC until you're officially deported to country of passport origin.

No one on this group can say is you'll skate out with just the fine and ban it not.

Best of luck with it, safe travels

You have previously started hypothetical threads re overstay.

Enough fiction.

Along with another made up thread here.

And yet another here.

Twenty-five years..." one of the longest recorded overstays".

34 years.

Respect. :jap:

34 years of overstay deserves some years in the monkey house, i hope this person gets it ...

some people overstay intentionally, behave disrespectfully toward those who follow the visa rules, and make it harder for people to comply with the law. shame on this selfish and inconsiderate scum bag who think they are above everyone else ...
