Car Battery Replacement - Astounding service!

Featured Replies

I just arrived back in Thailand for the winter. A friend parked his Pajero Sport at my Bangkok condo for the last 7 months. Needless to say the battery was totally discharged. Doors would not even unlock with the remote. No cabin lights, nothing. What to do? Take out the battery and try to charge it, or replace it? Given it's nearly 4 years old - replacement best option. Searched online and found a battery company that sends out a mechanic on a motorbike with new battery and tools. Prices looked reasonable (even compared to Lazada etc.). I messaged them on Line App at 08:30am on Sunday morning. They replied within a few minutes with options and prices. I chose the battery and sent the address. Mechanic arrived at 09:50am. He checked the dead battery. Not even a reading on his test meter. He tested the new battery and showed me the test to show full charge and power rating. Fitted new battery and asked me to start the car - started immediately after 7 months of standing. Mechanic then checked charge rate and showed me to confirm. Battery is better than OEM and is a 90ah Delkor EFB. Total cost was just 4,400 Baht fitted, tested and old battery taken away.

The company was BatteryPro Thailand based in Bangkok. https://www.batteryprothailand.com/

Maybe this helps someone sometime.

When this happened to me in my Ford Ranger, I was 16km from home in a thunderstorm, and I had had my headlights, HRW, a/c on.

I rang my wife, who called the guy who fixes the truck and he came out with his man and a battery on a trolley. They jump started the Ford and followed me back to the tractor shop where they fitted a new battery and the shop let me pay next day as I didn't have enough cash on me.

The mechanics charge was free and they wouldn't even take a tip that I offered.
