Not For Sale! The one thing you would never sell...

For me, it has to be my collection of childhood and teenage photos of my mother. Every single one of them holds a piece of her life before I ever existed, a glimpse into the woman she was becoming long before she became my mother. The grainy edges, the faded smiles, the tiny moments frozen in time feel priceless to me. They tell stories I’ve never heard, capture emotions I’ll never fully understand, and remind me how human she is beyond the role I’ve always known her in. If my place were burning down, that box of photos would be the first thing I’d grab. You can buy new clothes, new furniture, even rebuild a home, but you can’t buy back a visual moment once it’s gone.

  • Surely pictures of your dear Mother should come under your other topic of greatest non living object you own. Why would you even mention it under a 'never sell' topic? Who on earth would buy pictures

  • maybe scan them and store in the cloud

Everything for sale at the right price, and that wouldn't have to be much more than what it cost me.  Really have nothing that means that much to me.

I could easy rid myself of all it, go nomadic, and live out a of decent camper pick up truck ...

I think you are getting confused by your own threads.

Nice, proper nice. My best mate had one of them when we were about 22 years old. Luckily, his old man had a few quid as the insurance was about 50% of what my mate was earning at the the time.

He followed up with a 3 litre Ford Granada his old man gave him. We used to park up on a Friday and Saturday night after a night out and a curry for a night's kip. No need to go home to a comfy bed. Push the front seats forward, turn the radio on or put a cassette tape in (bit of Bob or Aswad) and climb in the back. Smoke a bit of herb, listen to some tunes, munch a bit of chocolate.

Next morning we'd pop back to my parent's house nearby. My mum would cook us bacon sandwiches. Have a shower each (separately, I hasten to add) then rinse ans repeat for another day. Very, very fond memories.

Interesting that given the question people immediately respond with material possessions and not fealty or physical references. Quite revealing !

Well, I spoke to soon. Harris is always interested in any male bum hole, no matter how old and worn out it is.

I do have the OED, which gets used once again. ......... Fealty = a feudal tenant or vassal's sworn loyalty to a Lord.

Correct. A nice house & car, Windows 11 Pro, Cakewalk Sonar free, vintage guitars, and my vast experience of life as a musician.

Obviously wasted by boasting it on AN. You compete with retired Green Berets'., explat billionaires , proliferate genius , and assorted expert financial advertisers.

Only difference is that my experiences are TRUE, I was there when they happened.

Never been in Green Berets, been a billionaire, or been and listened to an FA (which is what they give you). Done it all on my own.

Your turn!

Well done in taking the bait !

If I am not mistaken you do have fealty but  don't know it !

Fealty to self is is admirable so long as it is demonstrably unselfish.

Thanks. I’ve done that as well. But still, nothing like holding the originals.

Would not sell JIntara's power of love Cd, she gave it to me and it's worth about 10k baht to collectors. Mine has never been opened, it's considered by many fans to be one of her best

Everything I own fits into two suitcases. So I guess I wouldn't want to sell those suitcases.

Because moving using bin liner bags is soooo ghetto.
