One where you have signed a waiver that you are convinced that I would not be able to hit you because of my age, and you are being a volunteer target, in full knowledge of all the risks involved, being of sound mind and body.

And which public accesable ranges have such a waiver ?

What do we need a range for?

No need for a range , just a suitable weapon for 29 5.56 rounds.

Surely we can agree the distance, alongside a couple of witnesses?

One to ensure I don't move toward you, and one in the butts as marker.

We could even run a book on the outcome, if you don't get hit, you can have all the winnings, if you do get hit, I don't mind if the proceeds pay for the funeral.

i am having trouble keeping up with the current Israeli crime wave, sexual assaults, rampaging in hospitals, illegal companies, counterfeiting, drugs, robberies, temple donation etc etc

Lets see what tomorrow brings.

What crime wave. How many crimes by Israelis have been committed in the past 30 days?'

There is no crime wave. This is you using the thread as an opportunity to promote your hateful  messaging.

Agreed that crime wave is over the top. But there's no denying that Israeli are in the Thai news a lot lately, all negatively. And you may dismiss the reports as anti-Semitism, the number of incidents seems high.

ok. you say the Israelis are in the news a lot lately. What's alot? How many times? How does it compare to non Israelis. Is the number of Israeli "criminals" as a proportion  of their share in total foreigners, greater than the proportions of other foreigners?

I look forward to being educated. Feel free to use the news items from Asean Now which form the basis of your opinion.

What current Israeli crime wave? There isn't one.

How many crimes have their been overall by foreigners, and how many have been by Israelis?

This topic is about one Israeli, who was caught red-handed importing 29 live rounds of 5.56mm ammunition in a magazine illegally into Thailand, end of story.

No amount of Hasbara alters those facts.

I'm looking forward to the results of the Thai police investigations, and any further action against this individual, if it ever becomes public knowledge.

Still waiting on you two to backup your claim of an israeli crime wave.  To make such a claim, you would need  some data to support it. A crime "wave" typically is evidenced  over a period of week or weeks and if sustained, months. Surely you can provide data for the past month to support your claim.

Where did i claim a crime wave?

I have said that there are quite a few negative news stories about Israeli lately. Any look at the news will confirm that, if you want to deny, up to you.

You agreed with Malcolm's false claim that there was a crime wave.

All I am asking is that you back up the claim that there is a crime wave involving Israelis. Surely, that won't be too difficult if there is a crime wave over the top?

No i didn't agree, as your quote states as well. Look up the meaning of 'over the top'.

You are lying again. You have listed 8+ crimes. Aside from the fact that does not make a crime wave in respect to the total number of crimes reported, how about listing the dates and details of the crimes? Since you are able to offer specific, surely you can offer those basic details. Go on. Here's your opportunity to crush me publicly.

You're lying, accusing me of stating there is an Israeli crime wave, twice.

Why do otherwise sensible persons have blinders on when it concerns Israel. Rhetorical question.

Did you not write this comment in respect to the Israelis?

malcolm has a  demonstrated bias against israel and has attempted to use a small number of inconsequential events  as a means of promoting his political agenda.  The Israelis are in the news because of a desire to paint them in a negative light. If one takes a closer look at the crime reports a very different reality appears.  Comrade malcolm won't offer specific numbers most likely because he/she/it knows that the data does not support his statements. You have a perception that the Israelis are  active criminals,  which tells me that the propagandists have been successful. And yes, I have been compiling the data and I will share it.

Better stick to what I write in stead of interpreting my comments with your own perceptions.

Yes, this whole thing is weird. And, as it happens in many cases, we will probably never know what happened with him afterwards, as there is no follow up of stuff usually.

But, unless it is a case of extreme ignorance or due to a surprising reason, that is quite a risk the guy took on purpose. Many of us are afraid of even 1-2 days of overstaying and here is a guy taking ammo on a flight 🙂

Have you looked at the actual data? Over the past 3 months, there have been 103 incidents (excluding  multiple arrests at the same time) involving 254 people.  There were only 6 incidents that qualified as an actual crime. A total of 8 israelis were involved of which 4 were young men arrested in a private home and charged with drug use. Approximately 3% of the "criminals" named in the media report were Israelis.

The 3 business license related issues involving Israelis were minor. One was not even a crime, but an administrative lapse. His hotel, which was a legal operation had not registered its new name and was still registered under its old name. Hardly, the land theft one person has intimated.

A fuss was made over a young Israeli man having  a romantic liason on the beach with his paramour. It was a non event, just like the incident with the young kid from the UK and the young Russian man. They were young men doing what  young men have been doing since the dawn of time. Quel horreur.

The Israeli, who entered Thailand via Bangkok airport who had a magazine with bullets in his bag, was made out to be a diabolical agent involved in a criminal scheme. One look at the condition of the bullets was enough to indicate that the man was nothing of the sort. The bullets were in poor condition, with a strong likely hood of being duds because they had not been stored correctly.

It is you who has an inherent bias. Malcolm has been  quite adept at manipulating opinions, to convince the gullible that there is an Israeli crime wave, when there is not. On the contrary, there is a Chinese dominance of reported crimes in Thailand, and they are significant and costly. The data shows that in the past 3 months alone,  Chinese nationals have been implicated in approx. 30% of the  serious crimes.  There has been a concerted effort to divert attention away from this  reality. Get people to fixate on something other than the Chinese nationals. This thread demonstrates this.

Says a lot for Koh Samui passenger search security.

last time I flew through there on a connecting flight, I do not recall going through any security after we landed.  After a brief wait outside, we walked out to the plane and got on board.  Seems one could easily collect anything while waiting in Samui and then take that on the plane to Phuket

Immediately fine, deport and ban for 5 or 10 years. Got to send a message to people about things like this.  It does not matter what his intentions were.  he never ever should have had possession of such ammo in Thailand.  Maybe fine less if he cooperates and gives really good information on how where and from who he got the ammo in Thailand.  Threaten him with prison term in Thailand to loosen his toungue

Keeping defending the indefensible, as you're doing on a continuous basis, clearly shows a bias.

   LOL .

You ignored the rest of his substantial post showing that there was no crime wave by Israelis  and you just concentrated on one sentence and just turned it around and said the same thing back 🙂

No. You have made conclusions based upon your own personal bias. the crime data does not support your position.

I'm 72, was on the range shooting Bren guns , 303 Lee Enfield's at 14, by 16, using SLR's 7.62 Nato rounds, give me any weapon that fires those "plinking rounds" and you stand at 1000 yards down range, take spare under crackers with you and a coffin.

I have a Bren machine gun magazine.   I am just waiting to find the right Bren gun to go with it and I can then go to the range.   😄

That is an M16 magazine made under contract for U.S. government by D&H Industries in the state of Wisconsin.  The cage number is 04TQ4.

The ammunition appears to be 62 grain Green Tip 5.55x45mm NATO.      Probably not very accurate at 1000 yards.

Might have been sold to the Thai government or Thai military.
