Proof of funds non o Laos evisa

Featured Replies

Hi

i have a couple of k bank accounts and one of them has just over 400k sitting in there since  mid August.

my question is when going to Vientiane in January to apply for a non o single entry to visit Thai family (child) what’s the best way to show the 400k in the bank for the evisa application.

Latest bank statement via the kbank app,

going to bank to get statement to photo and upload or any better way.

I want to prepare my application before I leave Thailand start of January.

Since you have the funds in the bank you may as well obtain proof of that.

Suggest you obtain 3 month bank statement from K bank (even though not required)

The bank will do that on the spot and obviously obtain that prior to exit from Thailand..

No doubt you are aware that currently the procedure is to prepare application then enter Laos and with entry stamp lodge the application.

Then for payment attend consulate.

Turn around reports indictate quick process. Few days or less.

Assume you will return via land border. Get print out of your eVisa approval.

Yes I’m aware you can’t submit until enter Laos. The entry stamp is proof of location right?

I’ve barely used the bank account with the funds in so hopefully will all fit on 1 piece of paper to make it easier to submit as from what I remember you can only attach one photo/screenshot per requirement.

Entry stamp is good for location.

I used a downloaded statement in the UK.  Just uploaded the .pdf.   If you do go and get a paper statement your phone will easily scan however many pages it is as a single .pdf file, no issue at all.  Personally I'd use a downloaded statement.

Just checked my kbank app and it all fits on one page as I only made about 5 transactions after initial large deposit so that’s good.

Yes I could use the downloaded statement via the kbank app. Going to get a paper one is no problem though as I have small k bank branch literally opposite my apartment. They give a stamp on the statement so it’s probably better than downloaded one.

I think you are fine either way, however by way of contrast if you were obtaining the Visa in Thailand the download from bank app would not be accepted, hence for sake of visit to bank... I would ask for 3 month bank statement.

The statement needs to be in English?

No.  Certainly not.

No.

Bit unrelated however maybe useful info for some.

The guy in this thread Upnotover

(pretty sure) once suggested that obtaining bank statement in Thai language shows transfers from abroad.

This worked for me recently using income method.

Statement in Thai had Thai script "money from abroad" (Or similar)

Bringing this topic back up as I’ll be travelling to Nong Khai from Bangkok on Saturday January 3rd then crossing into Laos early Sunday morning.

Ive read banks in Thailand are closed on Friday January 2nd so I’ll only be able to get a 3 month bank statement from kasikorn on probably December 30th.

I’m pretty sure that bank statement would be acceptable when applying for my non o in Vientiane?  Its as close as I can get one before leaving Thailand.

so bank statement December 30th evisa submission January 5th all going well.

would just like to double check with anyone who has experience here.

cheers

Not directly answering your question however for extensions bank statements up to 7 days old are fine for application.

Thinking you are fine with dates indicated .

Have your application all done and as soon as you obtain the entry stamp to Laos do the application online.

It's probably not a problem but for e-visa applications they also will accept a downloaded bank statement which you could get any day you like on the K-plus app.

Thanks for the reply.

i was recommended to get a bank statement from the bank rather than app earlier in the thread so was planning on doing it that way.

I have just submitted my non o visa application and it has now said pending payment.

I haven’t received anything via email but have a visa reference number in my ready to submit part of the evisa website.

What do I do now? Wait for email or go to embassy and quote the number?

Bit confused to be honest

  • Author

Sorry it says proceed to payment.

Nothing via email to show if I go embassy Monday

The embassy is closed as it's the weekend. There is no one to receive your application and e-mail you the QR code that you need for payment.

Ok thanks

So I’ll get an email tomorrow or whenever.

So don’t go to embassy until I receive QR code?

It’s just confusing as my evisa portal still says ready to submit when I’ve already done that.

Wait for email then attend embassy for payment.

Once payment is made the application will be processed quickly

My visa application has vanished from the website even I got a reference number yesterday

This sucks

Judt update.

Had to re submit application as the one from yesterday mysteriously vanished.

You do not have to wait for the embassy to email you a QR code. As soon as you proceed to payment you instantly get a QR code on the evisa website. Could be a new thing but definitely don’t hang around waiting as you won’t get a an email from Thai embassy Vientiane.

Uploaded application Monday morning

Additional document required Tuesday morning which was house book with child’s name. Added it and couple of hours later application changed to pending approval.

Friday 3pm visa approved.

Just letting you know my timescale if anyone doing the same as me soon.

Cheers

Thanks for the report, I'll probably be trying for a TV in Vientiane in a couple of weeks. Could you explain how the QR code works ? Do you take your phone / PC to the embassy and show them the code ?

Yes I took my phone to embassy that Monday after I submitted. I didn’t see the button to click QR code as I find the evisa wensite not very good when using your iPhone.

Spoke to security Thai guy at in the box just inside the front gate and he clicked download QR code. He then directed me to the left to print service under the tree about 10 metres away. Forget the agents. Cost 5000kip and then took it back into embassy and paid. All very easy once you know.

@Louis100 after you obtain the Non O eVisa could you please write a report of exactly what you provided for proof of funds and anything else that would be useful.

TIA

I uploaded a 3 month bank statement from kbank (not from the app) that I paid 100 baht for in Thai.

Also lucky I took a photo copy of the house book with my son’s name on. They asked for this for additional documents. I only showed the page with his name on not the other page with the actual address. The page with his name on has the house registration number on it.

Anything else please ask
