Flight booking glitch

Featured Replies

I booked a flight with Thai last month. Everything went smoothly until the final payment stage. The screen then went blank with the message " processing payment " . Then a blank screen with just a back button.

Checked my email and the ticket was there so I thought everything was sorted.

I was surprised then ,the next day ,when I received an email from Thai saying " your booking is nt complete " with a link to the booking page . This would involve going through the whole process again and paying again.

I Checked the links in the original mail , none of which worked,  so I thought maybe I need to book again.

Luckily I decided to check my cc account and found the money had been taken, so I just printed out the ticket and hoped for the best . I wasn't certain if the ticket was valid until I actually checked in at Heathrow- what a relief!

So , not certain if this glitch occurs with all airlines, or if its just Thai , but definitely think twice before paying a second time.

Good information thanks! Always seemed to have some issues when booking and paying on airline websites myself. One of the reasons I prefer to book with the 'third party' online travel agents.

I've had the same issue when paying for items online in Thailand (i.e insurance cover)...

I've received a failed message, repeated the process to find the same failure message - only to find out that a double payment has been made and I'm then dealing with a 'refund process'...

I don't think its specifically Thai Airways related - rather its a flaw in the portal they use for online payments.

Thus: the lesson here is caution must be taken when making online payment as when the failed message pops up, thats not always the case and there is a risk of double payment if trying again.

In the same situation I would;

1) Check my bank - has payment been made?

2) Go to upcoming trips/manage my booking on the TG website and verify the details there.

3) Check in online as soon as it opens.

Hoping for the best would not have featured, but all's well that ends well I guess.
