Pooket certainly does attract some ****heads now.  Lived there for many years . When it was a nice place. I refuse to visit the place now even though I still have many friends there

I stopped returning there in 2008. Had enough even then and despite the diving. In my experience the worst destination in Thailand. Not worth it unless you live there permanently and know the sweet zones.

Mind you my last visit to Pattaya, a place I used to really enjoy, showed me that it has also gone dreadfully downhill. I'll give it one more shot.

And yes, you're right - noone'll miss me 555 ...

I totally agree. Used to pop there 20 years ago for a few days break from where I was living in Thailand at the time.  Was quite enjoyable back in the day. Yes, you had your two week warriors but far fewer problems than there seems to be these days.

You have posters saying 'yes, but I live in the classier part of Phuket. We never see any of this trouble or the riff raff".  There is one particular poster on here - lives in the equivalent of a council housing estate in the UK but on Phuket. Bangs on about how his Mrs. owns 4 houses blah, blah blah. FOS.

Could never consider living there or even visiting again. It seems like a very poor replica and sham of what Thailand really is or should be.

It's like a Las Palmas for SEA and Oz (and now Russia).

WTF has spitting got to do with ‘woke nonsense’?

Being mentally deranged or unstable has nothing to do with woke! Do you ever know what woke means?
mental health isn’t anything new! FFS!🤦
