November 14, 2025Nov 14 If I retired to Thailand I probaly get dogs again as pets I used to have a small Chihuahua years ago and I love Chihuahuas But I know many of you guys live in 21sqm ,28sqm shoe boxes in Pattaya Phuket or Chiang mai and can't have any pets I was a responsible dog owner thankyou very much but not the ones I saw who let their dog LOOSE on the street , ready to bite passersby . I had one incident last time I was in Pattaya up near that Arcadia international, where a topless tattooed Russian guy had what looked like a Pitbull NOT on a leash barking at me so I couldn't walk past he made no effort to stop instead talking on his phone standing there ,I had to cross the road to get past Please can we get back to responsible pet ownership please ! it doesn't have to be dogs ,I recall seeing a Pattaya farang once with a MACAW walking around, I haven't seen him for years though that was his pet although he asked for 100 baht to take a pic Do you have pets ? And if you do ,do you live in a condominium building ?. Budgies are not good pets they won't talk Are cats good pets in Thailand? They can be used as rat catchers Are pets good therapy for you in Asia I mean if you live in the villages of the Philippines, Indonesia etc you can have big dogs

No. You have a pet poodle as you said with a pink 🎀 ribbon tied around it's neck Your known as the Poof n Poodle when you walking it around the neighbourhood It always makes me wonder when I see younger or middle aged guys complete with tribal arm tattoos etc with a poodle or bunny rabbit I have a guy in my workplace who runs down those who travel to Asia calling them "desperados" and "not real men " and this is a guy who posts pics on his Instagram cuddling bunny wabbits

November 14, 2025Nov 14 Forget it Georgina. You curl up with dogs and guess what... you wake up scratching. And honestly these dreamy plans about living in Asia or riding off into a peaceful retirement need to pack their bags and move right out of your imagination. It is not happening. You are going to mop then mop again then mop some more until gravity finally wins. This grand destiny is already stamped and sealed. That government institution in Australia has you emptying dirty water buckets for life. Go on and embrace your glorious rung on the ladder and let that hazy, exotic Asian-fantasy drift away.

November 15, 2025Nov 15 I've ALWAYS had pets. Tropical fish, parakeets, and hamsters as a young lad, dogs, cats, and birds as an adult. Here in Chiang Mai, and living in a condo, we had a cat for 19 years before she passed over a few years ago. I miss her. I'd love to get another cat (I'd prefer a dog, but not while living in an apartment), but I'm 79 years old. I'm hoping for another 5-10 years, but when I die, that cat would be left homeless and 'family-less.' I can't knowingly do that to a pet. So... I bought a small aquarium that sits on the corner of my desk, which my Siamese Fighting Fish (named Fred) greets me every time I sit down! This is an earlier picture of him, when he was smaller. As he grew, I got a larger tank, but these guys aren't 'swimmers.' They basically just hang out so a huge tank isn't needed, and I can still keep it on the corner of my desk. We eat breakfast together. He's got a shorter life expectancy than I, so we've eliminated that issue, but he's responsive and keeps me entertained, his fins are almost twice as long now, so beautiful to just watch, checking off all the boxes I need filled these days.
November 15, 2025Nov 15 We have rescued street cats.... I lost my best buddy, my Bangkaew dog last May....He was an apex soi dog that I rescued - I think a snake got him.... I help a neighbor with another soi dog I rescued & she took in....I might take him over when we get back, or get another Bangkaew (puppy).... We have a house with an ok xixe yard...
