Laos visa on arrival

Featured Replies

Hi, I plan to go to Laos Vientiane tomorrow to make a Thai non visa; apparently it is necessary to apply 3 days in advance for a digital card even without using e visa. Anyone that tried to enter without this digital card, how it went?

I already booked the bus do I have to cancel?

Yes I'm applying now and it's within 3 days, means not before 3 days.

It's the 3 days before arrival. If you look at it now the only days you can select are 25, 26, 27 November.

Can't you get a Lao visa on arrival at the airport/border any more?

   Yes, you can

The OP title and post is confusing.

It seems he is asking about TDAC for return entry to Thailand.

That can be done up to 3 days prior to entry.

As example I flying Saigon to Thailand on Friday. I will obtain the TDAC online Wednesday.

For the OP most likely will wait till eVisa email received and then straight away do the TDAC and depart Laos

Yes you can.  This thread is wrongly titled.

Yes that's correct, thank you for your answers. I wanted to know if it was required to apply for digital card to enter Laos 3 days in advance (to get a visa to stay in Laos). Now that's clear, it's within 3 days. How should I have titled the topic? For the next time 😊

You're still talking about visa's!  The thing you have completed is the arrival card.  You will need a visa on arrival when you enter Laos which you can get at the border.  You could have got an e-visa but now don't have enough time.  But either way you need both the arrival card and a visa of some kind.

ok sorry, I referred to it as part of the visa process to enter Laos. On the same subject, is it better to pay in dollars or bahts? (for the visa to enter Laos).

40 USD in perfect condition.  $1 or $2 more if you don't have a photo.  You can pay in THB but will be a very poor rate.

Thank you, I read that there is an exchange office at the border on the Laos side, anyone can confirm?

Yes there is.  But if pressed for time (bus waiting?) you can use THB until you get into town and change there.

that's great, thank you very much for your answers. I opened another topic about the Non immigrant O visa based on marriage in Vientiane, I will continue there 🙂
