No need to travel, can be seen from the girlfriends condo rooftop.

I enjoyed a couple of beers and some snacks on the rooftop last night.

My wife asked about it,   I feigned ignorance as there is no way I

wanted to get stuck in that horrid traffic and mass crowds..been there done that.... after a couple of times even a dim wit like me learned the lesson 😋

I went for the first few times as we lived on South Pattaya road and could just walk to all the events..worst time was one time at new years eve the Bali Hai end of walking street where it becomes very narrow we almost got crushed there..after that I vowed to stay away from the crowds..also now we live too far away to walk there..but we have taken a motorbike and even then we got stuck in traffic.

You have to get there very early and leave late  with possibly somewhere to stay overnight to even contemplate it now.

After being there for the last 2 years of this event I decided to get the heck out of town this year.  Too much of a gong show for me.  Traffic is bad enough at the best of times and it's 10x worse during this weekend.

Walked to Moment Cafe to watch it from there tonight but preferred the view from my Condo so walked back after the first set to watch it there

Yesterday was no way as bad as last year. Lunchtime was worse for me on an mc.....

I had to go to soi 8 for 7.30pm and was dreading it but after the usual f***wittery from a few Bolt mc drivers I took an established win on 3rd Road from the north and thought the traffic was not as bad as last year.

The golf group I play with had real problems last year getting back into Pattaya but this year apparently no issues. Soi Buakhow was a car park but if you could avoid that ok.

They obviously had a change of mind as this was taken on Thursday lunchtime at the junction of Soi sam and Pattaya Klang

No sign when I went through at 7pm and still 2 way traffic..........

I remember last year they had one way between big c Extra and sukhumvit and third road and beach road.

The short stretch between Big C extra and third road remained two way haha

Was this man asked for permission to take his photo ??

Of course I'm being sarcastic but it happened to me last year in Jomtien where I was taking a photo of spa baths on balconies only to have 2 old nosey Parker's ask me what I was doing and if I had permission

The traffic is easily avoided..... I book a room (do it early), drive in mid afternoon and park up and off after breakfast. Crowded, infuriating, bladder pains as toilets hard to  find, then hard to find your spot after. It was cold too! Spectacular fireworks, must have killed thousands of fish. Locals loved it.... yobs on bikes looking for trouble after! Mostly sitting around waiting for the glory! Some guys I knew had booked deck chairs, prepaid, and were asked to turn up at 4pm to reserve. Hence wait for 4 hours for the shows.

I say it every time, never again!

Seems ironic to call others 'nosey parkers' while being a peeping Tom with a camera!

I don't know about that, but I do remember having a conversation with him about my holiday in Tenerife, turns out he'd been to Elevenerife...

I had to Google the term's meaning.    I once had a co-worker that we called One Up Rob.

Unfortunately, watching it from a distance doesn't cut it. You need to be centre stage (At Pattaya Klang) to really enjoy it because they are choreographed fireworks displays to music (pyromusical), designed to be watched close up.

I also hate crowds, but this is one time it's worth the effort. I went on both nights. The hard part is not getting there, but getting away at the end of the night with traffic that rivals New Year's Eve.

Went on Friday and it was a great night. Not as busy as the last couple of years, so got home very quickly on a couple  of motor bike taxis

Thanks for the input but to be totally honest, I have 0 (ZERO) interest in fireworks, it has never interested me, whether from a distance or up close.

I was glad I could convince the girlfriend to watch from the rooftop.

I much prefer to be closer to my girlfriend and not too far from the bedroom at all times.

BTW, what I would like to attend up close is the Jetski world cup

To be honest, I did it for my new gf, who has never seen a display up close. The time for being close to the bed at all times has passed.

Funny when I went there thru the scary walking street crush, most people were filming it and watching it on their phones.

Watching fireworks on phones is no where as good as the real thing.
