  • You can't justify murdering people in international waters by labelling them "terrorist" drug traffickers, any more than you can justify the killing of cigarettes and alcohol smugglers, illegal immigr

The whole Trump regime needs to be held accountable for their illegal actions. Too numerous to list here ....BUT THEY WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE.

He should be applauded for this,    Unless of course you like your environment destroyed by drugs and addicts. Im case people have not noticed, the traditional methods don't work,    they never have ,  Well guess what here are a few drug runners who won;t be running any drugs again guaranteed, and no doubt a large quantity of "merchandise" has dissolved safely into the sea

What's not to like ?   unless you are a crackhead of course

International law says these types of attacks are illegal. As Paul Friedman and others have pointed out, there is no second order analysis being done by this administration. They've been getting away with this because they are bullying a small Latin American country, and conducting these operations on the high seas where holding them accountable is difficult. But no one stops to consider that if the US is asserting the right to conduct these operations, what's going to happen when a more powerful state like China or Russia decides to start sinking ships they claim are involved in operations they deem to be terrorist activities? I'll tell you what: chaos and geopolitical instability. MAGA's willingness to ignore the rule of law and go along with Trump's lawlessness is shameful.

How many countries have the right to go to the USA and start murdering USA arms dealers because they produce the weapons, and ship them overseas thus being directly responsible for so much death and misery in these countries?

"I" have not murdered anybody my little snowflake,  but I fully support this action.  I do not care what you or your ilk think.

‘We Intended the Strike to Be Lethal’ Is Not a Defense

"An explosive Washington Post report, the subject of so much discussion the past two days, says that, in the first missile strike the Trump Defense Department carried out against operatives of a boat suspected of transporting narcotics on the high seas off Venezuela, two survivors were rendered shipwrecked. As they clung to the wreckage, the U.S. commander ordered a second strike, which killed them.

If this happened as described in the Post report, it was, at best, a war crime under federal law. I say “at best” because, as regular readers know, I believe the attacks on these suspected drug boats — without congressional authorization, under circumstances in which the boat operators

Nevertheless, even if we stipulate arguendo that the administration has a colorable claim that our forces are in an armed conflict with non-state actors (i.e., suspected members of drug cartels that the administration has dubiously designated as foreign terrorist organizations (FTOs)), the laws of war do not permit the killing of combatants who have been rendered hors de combat (out of the fighting) — including by shipwreck."

Unfortunately, realistically nothing will be done under this administration. Best case scenario is he will be impeached and referred to the DoJ for investigation under the next DoJ.

Trump has a habit of picking from the bottom of the barrel when it comes to his appointments, Hesgeth is probably the best example of that. A small minded man who would just barely be qualified to lead the San Diego County chapter of the Boy Scouts leads a department with 2 million employees, which is arguably one of the most important divisions of the US.

I doubt if there's a single officer in any of the four branches of the armed forces in the US that has any regard or respect for the man, and that's a dangerous thing. This goon and Trump accuse John Kelly of sedition. Who is the real traitor? Hesgeth does not have the gravitas to shine Kelly's shoes.

Thank you General Kelly for your service you are a man of honor. Please continue telling the officers not to listen to the grossly unqualified, grossly incompetent, and terribly inexperienced circus goon Hesgeth.

One of these guys flew 39 combat missions in Iraq and Afghanistan and piloted the Space Shuttle four times.

And one of these guys had his car keys confiscated at the bar, then vomited in the back of an Uber. Would he even qualify to run a small company of 200 people? I seriously doubt it.

Who is this American hero that both the goon and the drunkard vomiter lowlife have the audacity to threaten?

As a Navy pilot, he made multiple deployments on the aircraft carrier USS Midway and flew 39 combat missions in Operation Desert Storm. Senator Kelly is the recipient of the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, two Distinguished Flying Crosses, and multiple Air Medals. He has logged more than 5,000 flight hours in more than 50 different aircraft and has over 375 carrier landings. Senator Kelly retired from the Navy with the rank of Captain.

In 1996, he was selected as an astronaut in the same NASA class as his identical twin brother Scott. Senator Kelly’s first of four trips into space was as pilot of STS-108 in December 2001, during which he helped deliver equipment, supplies, and additional crew members to the International Space Station.

All in all, Senator Kelly has spent more than 50 days in space — traveling over 20 million miles. He retired from NASA in 2011 after commanding Space Shuttle Endeavour on its final flight.

Senator Kelly has broken through Washington gridlock to deliver real results for Arizonans. In his first year, he played a key role in shaping and passing the historic bipartisan infrastructure law, which is improving Arizona’s roads, bridges, water systems, ports of entry, high-speed internet access, wildfire response, and much more.

He’s taking on Washington corruption by introducing bold proposals to ban stock trading by members of Congress and put an end to corporate PACs.

Senator Kelly also worked on a bipartisan basis to secure the Senate passage of a $52 billion deal that’ll increase domestic microchip manufacturing to create high-paying Arizona jobs, strengthen supply chains to lower costs, and bolster national security. Additionally, he helped negotiate a landmark deal to drive down prescription drug prices and lower out-of-pocket costs for seniors.

He is Ranking Member of the Senate Armed Services Airland Subcommittee, where he plays a leading role in getting our airmen and soldiers the tools they need to do their jobs, while also expanding Arizona’s role in our national defense.

Quite a resume compared to a very minor former news anchor.

AI quickie Gemini:

No Fixed Priority: Under the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP), which many state courts follow, the methods of discovery may be used in any sequence by either party. The fact that one party is conducting discovery does not delay the other party's discovery.

Initial Disclosures: Federal practice promotes concurrent discovery, starting with mandatory initial disclosures by both sides shortly after the case begins and the parties have held a discovery-planning conference.

AI Quickie Gemini Take 2

Attorney: The family is represented by Dan Kovalik, an American human rights lawyer.
Legal Action: Kovalik is preparing to file a legal claim, likely in the United States, to seek compensation for the family and to challenge the legality of the U.S. strikes in international waters.
Claims: The lawsuit is expected to argue that the killing constituted "murder" and an "extrajudicial killing," and that the individuals on the boat, even if suspected of drug trafficking, should have been arrested and given due process, not killed.

'Throwing Hegseth under the bus?' Trump statement on 'second strike' raises eyebrows

It’s hardly surprising that Trump would throw Hegseth under the bus at the first sign of trouble. That’s pretty much his usual way of operating. Just look at all the loyalists jumping ship. Trump’s in hot water. Trump's MO

Doesnt look like he did anyhting but support Hegseth. Especially when the original story is a blatant lie.
