Not stopping to help

Featured Replies

This is mainly to do with Pattaya expats but please allow me to ask all expats in the Asian Continent rather than just the expats in Pattaya

I came across a YouTube video where the farang said he was driving on that busy road highway at 2am in Pattaya Sukhumvit or whatever it's called

He saw a person laying on the side of the road but kept going !!

.

I was quite devastated and very sad for society that he made no attempt to call emergency services , I immediately sent him a message to tell him

Ok I'm not saying he should stop to help because not everyone physically can...but wouldn't you bother to call the ambulance?

Now would it be any different say in your own country?

Or would you continue on like you didn't see it there too ?

I saw one guy (Thai, homeless) floating head down in the water, in the Pattaya sea, two years ago, for what seemed like an eternity... A lot of people swimming there, but no-one cared, till I tipped him on the shoulder just to realise that he had drowned. - Pulled him out, and, even though CPR wasn't successful, and the ambulance didn't come for 20min., he made it, and recovered. Lucky guy!

No, I haven't practiced CPR for two decades, or so. The lifeguards did it, after I had pulled him out (they had arrived by then); unfortunately, they had not seen him drown from their tower. But I figure, another 10min., at best, and he would've been gone for good. Bad also that it took the ambulance that long. But, as mentioned, I heard later that he made it after arriving at the hospital.

So you "saw one guy floating head down for what seemed like an eternity" and then you "figure, another 10min., at best, and he would've been gone" but at the end "he made it".

I'm really glad you are not in charge of cooking my dinner tomorrow.

It's much worse in my country now, with ambulance drivers, firemen, and even police occasionally being haressed by bystanders... 😢

I'm sure, if you (not me) had been there, that guy would not be alive anymore... 😢

I think, you see the problem... - I mentioned that I helped, but got a, kind of stupid, reply by AndyAndyAndy. I also noticed that someone gave you a 'thumbs down' emoji! - People just don't have empathy, or a sense of responsibility anymore, particularly, I guess, Pattaya expats these days. Everyone just thinking of themselves... 😢

It is difficult to be empathetic with some victims today. If a  boat carrying  doctors and engineers capsized off the coast of England, some people who live in the besieged towns where these people are housed might not be too concerned.

No. I could do with a new watch and a couple of extra quid always comes in handy.

So what was the body? Gay, straight, bob or a tranny? Or all the above?

I made an attempt.......

A couple of years ago, around 3am, I saw this tidy chick, passed out, laying by the side of the pool, on a deck chair, she stank of alcohol.

I offered her a warm shower and a comfy bed to sleep in, she took up my offer.

I had to throw out her stained, stinky clothing, poor girl had to walk around the condo naked all day, while I gathered some new clothes for her.

Smelt like flowers after her warm shower. I took a few photos, before and after thing, a fantastic change, quite proud of myself. 😃

I reckon I deserve a good Samaritan award, I saved that beautiful young girl.

Unfortunately, most of the rubber boats which go to England from France do not carry doctors and engineers, but undesirable men who want a free life there, and then bring in their families, to live off the State. I did hear that the French are now going to intercept these boats as they leave France, merci.

I understand that calling someone 'racist' used to be a way to silence someone.

But now the tides have changed, as people realized that races do exist, and that it indicates the type of culture a person was subjected to in his upbringing...

The Thai emergency services only speak Thai, and he only spoke English.

"hello there's a chap lying by the side of the road" ..... "Arai wa"

He has no medical training ...... what do you suggest he does?

Not that this incident actually happened, except in your head.

Georgina, every single post you write reads like the same diary of your unmatched boredom, sadness, depression, or fear. You have been recycling the same Karen meltdown saga for months now. Try something else for once, FFS.

Could not be more true, same recycled topics that are all fictional and getting worse day by day.

In the UK, if one does not refer to the migrants arriving in boats a positive manner, one can be charged with a hate crime related to incitement against the UK's  visitors.

Have to say, I prefer the apparently mentally ill posters to the deliberately nasty vicious posters.

It's a sad world when people are deliberately nasty to strangers!

Have to agree, without any video or even a screenshot it appears to be just another fantasy from the GG twins !
