Recreational cyclist looking for a cycling group in Khon Kaen

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a cycling group in the center of Khon Kaen (I live near the airport).
The other day, for example, I cycled up to Hin Chang Si; it was nice, but it would be more fun in a group.
Sometimes I go around the bypass

Regards.
Eric

I recommend contacting a local bike shop and asking if they can recommend a cycling group.

Alternatively checkout STRAVA for local groups and cyclists. If you have a STRAVA premium account you can search cyclists in your own age group.

Good luck.

Can you speak Thai? The Thai cyclists I've encountered out on the road are some of the friendliest Thais I've met, and that's saying a lot because the people are lovely.  The heat doesn't seem to slow them down, either.  Anyways, good luck with your search.

I used to drive to Khon Kaen regularly and always saw the same group heading around the north-east section of the ring road about 7:30am in an anti-clockwise direction.

I suggest you leave at 6:30am and travel clockwise.

i also agree with the suggestion to search Strava or Garmin.

There is quite an active cycling community in Khon Kaen. As another poster suggested it's best to go to a bicycle shop and ask. There are competitive racing clubs, but also recreational clubs. The main drawback is they typically start 5:00 am or similar
