Roller-Coaster Riding: is it for you?

Featured Replies

Dear Folks,

In my opinion, probably no different than most of yours, we can divide all of humanity into just two major groups:

Those who love roller-coaster riding

Those who detest roller-coaster riding

What do you imagine one’s penchant for, or distaste for, roller-coaster riding might say about you, and your approach to life?

I once paid to ride on a roller-coaster at 6-Flags in Colorado.

Once was plenty.

But, are you the type who returns, over and over, to ride up and down?

Some say that riding up and down is the main purpose in life.

Do you agree?

Others achieve joy in life in other ways.

So…

If you want to know about someone, I guess the best question you might ask is whether or not they enjoy riding on roller-coasters.

It's all about stimulation, I think…

Going up and down,...

And paying for the ride.

Any thoughts?

Regards,

Gamma

Life , is enough of a roller- coaster for me...

If everyday living isn't a roller coaster, or at least a miniature ferris-wheel, you aren't doing it right. Plan like you'll live forever, but live like you'll die tomorrow. :coffee1:

I lived for a bit in a shared house near Universal Studios in Orlando, FL.

A guy in the house said he lived there so he could ride the roller coasters frequently.

I said I do not ride the roller coasters. He asked: Why -- are you afraid of heights?

I said. Don't know. But I have a pilot's license.

Not for me - absolutely NOT !!!

As a youngster, I experienced the Blackpool and the Battersea torture and woul never seek it again.

I've been gliding, skiing, caving but FunFairs - a major YUK !

I get motion sickness just from reading any of GG’s whirlwind of chaos topics. I can never decide who is more unhinged, the author or the reader for sticking around. And you can keep those collapsible death rails.

I get sick in a  taxi!

Bet the taxi drivers feel blessed when that happens. Who cleans it up?

Gawd, there are done boring b’stards in the world. If you don’t enjoy the thrill of an actual rollercoaster —not entirely what op is alluding to I suspect—then there’s gotta be something wrong with you. Probably a generational thing. 😜

I'm in the 'love' category, and enjoy all those thrill rides, adventures and experiences in life.  Thrill seeker from way back, and amazing I'm still alive.  Only slowed down after 50 yrs old, as I don't bounce nearly as good as I used to.
