Minimum monthly transfer for OA retirement-based visa/extension

Featured Replies

Is it still 65,000?  What with inflation, I want to make sure it hasn't gone up and I somehow missed it.  Also, if it does go up, where could I find out?  Here the best place?

You transfer minimum 65k baht per month.

When you set up transfer eg using WISE the amount to be deposited into your Thai Bank is displayed. Along with exchange rate etc.

Suggest you always transfer more than 65k

Yes, I've been doing it for years.  I just wanted to make sure the required amount hadn't gone up so I wouldn't be surprised when I went for my next annual extension.  Thanks.

All good. Still 65k min.

As you would be aware these transfers need to be shown to be international transfers.

By asking for 12 month bank statement in Thai language then those transfers with have "money from abroad" In Thai script.

So far, the criteria for extensions of stay, including the need of proof of finances, where applicable, and changes to these criteria have always been stated in an order of the Royal Thai Police published in the Royal Gazette and it is reasonable to assume that this procedure will continue.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

Yes, I suggest you transfer at least a little more than THB 65k if, like me, you transfer from an account with a different type of money. The exchange rates fluctuate, so it's best to set up your account to send a little bit more, like the equivalent of THB 70k.

For Oz folk using WISE it's a two step process.

From Oz bank app transfer desired amount to WISE wallet.

Step two transfer from WISE wallet to Thai bank account.

It's, done in seconds.

I prefer to do it manually ~14th of every month

For those that have auto transfer set up then yes 70k would be good idea.

Personally I need more/month.
