I didn't know you where are economic and civil scholar to be so sure about things!

I guess some companies didn't get the message that the US is so bad, as they are building new plants in the US, or maybe they understand something you dont.

That Tariffs help promote local growth and the economy. If Tariffs are so bad then why does just about every other country have them?

Investments in the USA 2026

Yazoo mills - $14 million building their 3rd manufacturing plant in PA

Woodward - $200 million building a new manufacturing plant in SC

Eli Lilliy - $6.5 billion  new manufacturing plant in Texas

TSMC - $165 Billion building 3 new manufacturing plants and an R&D center

Globalwafers - $7.5 billion manufacturing plant in Texas

LG Energy solutions - $5.5 billion manufacturing plant in Texas.

Investment's mostly because of Bidens CHIPS.

  • Well done, Donald. That should last another five minutes or so. It won’t be the end of it since both parties suffer greatly with that need to preserve face but more importantly that ambiguous border a

  • Good intentions but the ceasefire holding is a long shot as it was originally. Of course this thread will rapidly descend into anti-Trump rants.

Yeah how dare Zelensky not concede territory to an invading force who declared war on a sovereign country and have killed between 60,000 and 100,000 of his people.

Yeah, it's all Zelensky's fault.

It's not about fault, he's just as much a war monger as Putin, probably more so, and the bodies keep stacking up.

Sorry, I must have missed that in the news. Did Zelensky invade Russia? Is he insisting on being given Russian territory?

It is absolutely about 'fault' and there is NO comparison with who is at fault the most. Your Kremlin sycophancy isn't going to change reality.

Well, the person was talking about Donnie ending the Ukraine war, I said he has ties with Putin which will not allow him to do that. Is there anything new in his ties with Putin? He won his first term with money from Putin, everyone knows that.

He Won the First term with Votes, Not Money. Do people vote with money from your home country?

I doubt it.............:coffee1:

Personally id rather see peace break out ASAP.  People are dying and lives broken on both sides. If pressure or calls by Trump helps good. Couldn't care less who gets it there tbh, enough have already died & lives wasted.

I guess you support Thailand, huh?

I love the way Trump obsessed folks would rather see bombs dropping on peasants than a cease fire.

Tell me, how the hell did you conclude I support anyone

..this is your overactive imagination based on no intelligence (as in facts).

Delusional thinking, go back to how/why this started, as usual the West sticking it's nose in where it doesn't belong and poking the bear, when you poke a bear they react in very bad ways. So basically, nothing that has happened over there is a surprise to anyone but the delusional, nor the outcome.

I know how/why this started and I also know the Kremlin propoganda which you seem to have fallen for.

Apart from the nonsense about US intervention in it's elections (another Kremlin propoganda favourit) I assume you are talking about Ukraine wanting to join NATO. A SOVEREIGN country (like Ukraine) has the right to do whatever they think is best for their country and if Ukraine thought that was with NATO then that's their perogative (and you can perhaps now understand why they would be interested) but you miss a very vital part of this which is NATO hasn't allowed Ukrainian membership for exactly the reasons you give i.e. a promise to not provoke 'the bear'. Also, NATO has never agreed to not expand east and indeed only did so when countries asked them. The majority of this was the late 90's and early 2000's with the only recent ones being Montenegro in 2017 and North Macedonia in 2020. Both Finland and Sweden recently joined as a direct consequence of Russian actions in Ukraine.

If NATO expansion east was the provocation, then why not do it in 2004 when Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia all joined NATO? Or in 2009 when Albania and Croatia joined? This idea that Putin was somehow 'provoked' into invading Ukraine doesn't pass muster as even if they were allowed to joined NATO (which again I'll emphasise they weren't) how does that then mean Russia is under threat? No NATO country has ever provoked Russia but in the meantime Russia has invaded Georgia and annexed Crimea.

Putin apologists like yourself all come up with the same nonsense that somehow he was 'provoked' when all evidence is to the contrary. There was no agreement with NATO about expanding east, there was no genocide in Donbass and although there was plenty of talk about Ukraine joining NATO, it never happened and was in fact very unlikely to happen. But with his latest and most egregious aggression expect even more countries to seek the security of the NATO umbrella to include Ukraine.................or at least what remains of it.

Hi Kimamey. I'm guessing you are in Khlung area ? You say 30 KM to the border? Interesting - maybe I made a mistake but on a map today, I tried to measure the 'crow flies' distance to the border from Chanthaburi south. My efforts, which could be wrong, showed about 120km to the border and about 180km to a road, (thinking of the rocket launchers).

I'm interested how close the border is, academic interest. I'm guessing you are in Chan province close to Trat. Anyway, if you are up for a Chang in Chan anytime, no problem. Stay safe.

I doubt it was thunder you heard. ATB

Hi

The 30 km (I checked and I think it's actually 32km) was 'as the crow flies' to the border with Cambodia but there aren't any marked roads there. It's an elevated ridge so it might be accessible by troops if not vehicles.   It's about 120km to the Ban Hat Lek crossing.

I heard the faint rumble when I was outside and the first thought was thunder, although I was surprised to hear it. My wife is from Mahasarakham where we have a house and thunder and lightning in the distance and on the horizon is fairly common. If it's rhythmic then it's probably music from a celebration somewhere, possibly a guy becoming a monk and the family indulging in the centuries old tradition of seeing how loud they can pay someone to amplify music. Despite all the news jets, bombs or gunfire never occurred to me. My wife said she woke up and thought it was firecrackers from a funeral, until see realised what the time was.

Yes we're close to Khlung, we live on a government site. Our nearest civilisation i.e. a 7/11 is Bo, Khlung district. I'll send the location to you.

I'm off to the UK  tomorrow (Tuesday) but when I'm back I'd be happy to meet up.

You could also add Nato/Russian borders with Norway, Poland (Kalingrad), Turkey (before dissolution of the Soviet Union), sea border with the USA (Alaska). In addition Finland subsequently. So why the hell is Russian banging on a about a new Nato country bordering Russia. A pretty feeble excuse.

Don't pretend to be stupid. We all know that nobody is capable of being elected for president in the US without tons of money. In the last election Donnie got money from Elon whom in turn thought he then owned Donnie, but Donnie (as usual) didn't follow the script and kicked Elon and his son out of the white house.

Do you still live with your mother? A foolish friend was asking.

Money is used to pay for the expense of running a campaign not to buy votes. Buying of votes usually happens a lot here in Thailand.
