Anutin Tells Trump: Cambodia Must Cease Fire First

Thailand's Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has called on US President Donald Trump to urge Cambodia to stop firing first. This comes after Trump threatened tariffs on Thailand and Cambodia if hostilities continue. Trump made these remarks in an interview with The Wall Street Journal, highlighting his use of tariffs as leverage.

Trump's comments followed phone discussions with Thai and Cambodian leaders, Anutin Charnvirakul and Hun Manet. Trump claimed both agreed to a ceasefire within 24 hours to resume peace agreements. Despite this, fighting persisted between the two countries.

Speaking to reporters after a National Security Council meeting, Anutin refrained from commenting on Trump's tariff threat. He dismissed suggestions of international pressure for a ceasefire and questioned Cambodian accusations of Thai aggression. He highlighted videos showing Cambodia firing BM-21 rockets as evidence.

Anutin remarked on oil tankers at the Chong Mek border, noting they were destined for Laos, not Cambodia. Deputy Army Spokesperson Col. Richa Suksuwanon noted a decrease in Khmer gunfire, possibly due to disrupted Cambodian supply lines. However, resistance remains in Thai-controlled areas.

Amid these tensions, Col. Richa addressed suspicions about seized Chinese weapons, denying any evidence of Chinese support but confirming Thai control over the arms. Air force spokesperson ACM Chakrit Thamvichai stated that Thai military operations continue robustly to deter Cambodian aggression.

Lt. Cmdr. Napasorn Tippaso of the navy reported the arrest of a suspected spy in Trat province. There is a potential link between the suspect and a senior Cambodian police officer, but further details are still unknown, reported Thai Newsroom.

Key Takeaways

  • Anutin urges Trump to address Cambodian aggression before any tariffs.
  • Trump claimed ceasefire agreements, but hostilities persist.
  • Thai military efforts focus on disrupting Cambodian supply lines.

What a fun.. Anutin tells Trump, just as somebody can Trump what to do..... Us is much bigger than dwarf Thailand. Maybe Trump says to Anutin that Thailand has to stop.. How would he react?? Thailand doesn't want any involvement of foreigners in their country, but does he really believe he can say what other countries must do??

I think this is a cunning election strategy to please ultra-conservative groups.

Pig headed both of them  he probably thinks he is dirty farang  the us should hit them all where it hurts money wise thats about all they can do maybe then both sides will listen

In a way positive that someone won't dance to Trump's tune...:whistling:

Normally, both sides stop shooting at the same time, like midday. That doesn't work if there is no shooting but a lot of mine-planting.

It is time to educate Tariff Don. He knows nothing about geopolitics. Such ignorance. The US has long supported Hun Sen and has gone along with the democracy charade there. Cambodia must he stopped.

Anutin should listen to Trump because Trump is a man of peace.

Trump is the FIFA Peace Prize winner, an award invented especially for him!

A ceasefire is when two countries agree to it hate to say it but I’m not sure if the Thai PM wants a ceasefire he wants to show the voters he’s not one for being messed around with I read that a GE is to be held in early February he wants his party to win it so he will be more than happy to sit and wait and hope Cambodia will concede

Thailand......Pay attention to the tariffs.🤣

It is interesting that no one picked up on this. Remember a day or two ago, Thai patrols heard a communication, that ended in English. They saw persons on a hill, Once spotted, the suspects retreated. Then they grab a man from USA taking pictures of an airfield, Thai government has claimed that drones are being driven from subjects who control the drones on Thai soil. Very interesting, the government claimed at first that these were Russians, now you have a man from USA who is deleting photos, while hiding in a bathroom. I find that very interesting, would like to find out what his story is. (Secret OPS)

Each week this drags on is worse for Anutin. People thought this would be an easy conflict against a kooky country and are going to get tired of it.

This is rapidly descending into nothing but a dick swinging contest between three egotistical men who’re trying to personally make profit from their involvement, rather than for the benefit of their respective countries.

he should try a new strategy  ..  like ...ok Cambodia effective immediately you have 36 hours to completely stop all hostilities, our side will Stop now!.  After 36 hours and 1 second, we are going scorched earth on you !    Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Did you lose the full stop key?

Cambodia is up to no good and needs a proper kick up the A, but then again I wouldn’t trust either side with the ‘they drew first flood’ finger waving. Also, it is well known that Thais detest foreign meddling, so Trump should probably butt out.

Cambodia should offer olive branch by promising not to unleash air war like Thailand has done.

Should be easy.

They have no air force....

I think they have................🤗

4 transport planes and some helicopters. Not exactly an air armada.
