Immigration police in Chonburi have arrested a 22-year-old Uzbek national wanted under an Interpol Red Notice and found to be overstaying her visa by 112 days. The suspect, identified only as Mrs A, was detained after investigators confirmed she was the subject of an international arrest request issued by authorities in Uzbekistan for a serious criminal offence. She was taken into custody after appearing at Chonburi Immigration to collect a visa extension, following a police operation designed to secure her arrest without incident.

The operation was carried out under the direction of Pol Col Naphatphong Khositsuriyamanee and Pol Lt Col Kawinwat Arayasuriwong, Deputy Superintendent of Chonburi Immigration. Investigators, led by Pol Capt Kittiphat Hongchuwech, had received intelligence that a foreign fugitive sought by Interpol was hiding in the province. Officers reviewed the records of foreign nationals applying for visas and identified Mrs A as both an overstayer and the subject of a Red Notice issued after she had entered Thailand.

According to information contained in the Interpol notice, the suspect is allegedly part of a dangerous transnational human trafficking network. The network is accused of luring young women from their home country with false promises of well-paid work in Bangkok and Pattaya. Once the victims arrived in Thailand, their passports were allegedly confiscated to prevent escape.

Investigators state that the victims were then forced to work and threatened, with the suspects demanding up to US$5,000, approximately 170,000 baht, in exchange for the return of their passports and their freedom. Immigration police said these actions formed part of an organised criminal operation spanning multiple countries. The Uzbek authorities issued the Red Notice seeking the suspect’s arrest for prosecution on serious charges related to human trafficking.

Following her arrest, Mrs A was initially transferred to Pattaya City Police Station to face charges related to overstaying her visa. Thai authorities are now coordinating with relevant agencies to arrange her extradition to Uzbekistan in accordance with international extradition procedures. Immigration officials said the case highlights ongoing cooperation between Thailand and international law enforcement bodies.

SiamNews reported that Chonburi Immigration stated it remains committed to suppressing transnational crime and preventing Thailand from being used as a refuge by international criminals. Officials said the enforcement action was intended to strengthen public safety and maintain confidence among tourists and local residents.

No wonder she was here the country is full of transnationals 🤔

"Officers reviewed the records of foreign nationals applying for visas"..seems like this could be something routinely done..check arrivals, then.check same people against departure or extensions or visa conversions,  etc..  at least it should show apparent overstayed.  Investigate or pursue them on slow days at the office..

They do work if the country in which they are located have any interest in arresting them for traffic offences.

This could and should be an automatic print out for immigration. Cant understand why it isn't.

A simple inner join between two tables via a simple sql statement should do it, if my  old database work  experience is remembered correctly.

That will be her defense in court.  Hopefully the testimony of the victims is more persuasive.

Check out the eye make-up.  She was disguised as Alice Cooper.

So two reports in one day of foreigners on interpol red notices bring captured with this young woman overstaying by 112 days.

How is this happening? Is immigration doing the relevant checks before letting these people in?, or is there a massive flaw, or understanding, of how the system operates.

The biggest criminals to ever wash up on the shores of Pattaya have been Brits, Germans , Aussies and Canadians
