The US has been te most expensve country in the world for health care for many many years becaus the health insurance companies had years earlier gained a strangle hold on this item because of lobbying by the healrh companies. Obama tried but the GOP made sure it created giant road blocks to Obama gaining much ground. 

 

Yes some third world countries do have much better policies / benefits re national health care but they haven't allowed the health insurance companies to gain control of this subject /  industry.
