A fatal head-on collision between two cars has claimed the life of a young district officer in Pathum Thani, causing widespread shock among officials and family members. The crash occurred at 3.20pm on 21 December 2025 on Thanya–Wang Noi Road in Khlong Chet subdistrict, Khlong Luang district. The victim died at the scene after being trapped inside his vehicle.

Police from Khlong Ha station said the incident involved a grey Toyota Altis and a blue Daihatsu Mira. The Altis, driven by a 25-year-old woman, who reportedly lost control, crossed the central line and collided head-on with the oncoming Mira. The impact caused severe damage to both vehicles, with the Mira overturning and leaving the roadway.

The deceased was identified as Mr Nattiwat Thongkaemkaew, aged 29, a district officer in charge of security affairs at Lam Luk Ka district. He was the son of Pol Col Adirek Thongkaemkaew, superintendent of Pak Kret police station in Nonthaburi. Rescue workers used cutting equipment to extract his body from the wreckage before an initial examination was carried out at the scene.

The driver of the Toyota Altis, Ms Issaraporn Inthrasawat, aged 25, from Chachoengsao province, was injured in the crash. She was taken by rescue workers to Paolo Hospital for treatment prior to police questioning. Her vehicle suffered extensive front-end damage, with engine oil spilled across the road and airbags deployed.

A witness, Mr Narumit Namwicha, 44, told police he heard loud braking moments before the collision. He said the Altis appeared to skid before veering into the opposite lane and striking the oncoming car at high speed. The force of the collision caused the vehicles to spin and leave the carriageway.

Family members said Mr Nattiwat had only transferred from Nong Suea district to Lam Luk Ka around three months earlier. On the morning of the crash, at about 11am, he told relatives he was travelling to attend the wedding of a local defence volunteer in Nong Suea district. He was driving an older, smaller car owned by his father and was about two kilometres from home when the crash occurred.

Manager online reported that investigating officer Pol Lt Col Pholkris Kerdchai confirmed that police documented the scene, questioned witnesses and are reviewing CCTV footage from the area. The body has been sent to Thammasat University Hospital for a full autopsy. Police will continue questioning the injured driver, when she recovers, as part of the investigation.
