So, you really think people who are not desperate for a better life for their families would be risking this. This isn't about bloody legal and illegal. It's about human beings.

  • All males of military age. No women, no children.

So what? Regardless, let's see stats. All migrants worldwide move and then the families follow.

They have finally discovered a brighter future with Allah, embracing the opportunities it brings.

I’ve spent most my life as a professional expat (aka economic migrant).

Almost all expats are young men of military age.

Share your experiences of the longest journey you’ve taken across the oceans in a small boat along with other migrants. Consider writing a book about your struggles as an economic migrant.

Like RT and Musk or hate them.  The article is worth reading.  Our advanced western cultures are being deliberately sabotaged.

By gum, you're right! All the Western powers, including the United States were colonialists. They stole everything. I was in Mozambique: the Portuguese even took the railway rails with them when they left.

Now those homing pigeons are coming back to roost. Back to the homelands of colonial power. Tit for tat. Som nom na. Much the same as is happening in Thailand's South. Oops!

The 'bus to Pattaya'....   perhaps equally as harrowing...  :giggle:

Seriously though, he’s not wrong. The vast majority of foreigners I know in Thailand are of working age, and very few of them are female. Men, in general, travel far more frequently for work than women - especially when the work is uncertain, physically demanding, or even illegal. That reality isn’t controversial; it’s just observable.

The same pattern appears with illegal immigration to the UK, where the it is often stated that the overwhelming majority of arrivals are men.

But if you were a Syrian with no viable way to earn money, facing either prolonged conflict or economic collapse, would you stay put - or would desperation drive you to travel, take risks, and do whatever you could to survive?

I’m not suggesting that the current state of UK immigration policy is correct or sustainable. It clearly isn’t. However, I can understand the human behaviour behind it. If the roles were reversed, I would likely do exactly the same - go anywhere I could, by whatever means necessary, to earn money and support my family.

The uncomfortable question is motivation. If these men are genuinely attempting to support loved ones left behind, their actions, while illegal, are at least understandable. If, however, they are simply exploiting a politically weak and naïve system for personal gain, then the moral calculus changes entirely. The tragedy is that public discourse rarely makes room for this distinction, preferring instead simplistic labels and emotionally charged narratives over uncomfortable nuance.

Lammy will probably propose 10 million pounds compensation to all their family members.

Because the UK failed them, or white privilege or something.

Jonny dreams up another ‘probably’ and straps it to ‘white privilege’ to feed his need for grievance.

Nobody immigrates, legally or illegally, to live off the dole. The Mexicans, Central Americans, Indians, Vietnamese, Cambodians, Burmese are the hardest working in their chosen societies. $600/month goes nowhere. Nobody wants that.

I just hope Canada doesn't follow the US.

Given that Democratic NYC mayor Eric Adams claims that each "newcomer" costs the city $36,000 a year to support, do you really think $600 a month is all they get?

That's just the walking around cash.  On top of the food benefits, health care, education, legal assistance, housing and all the others.
