Most of the alleged outrage will be generated on line by the professionals employed by the Cambodians there must be a few unemployed scammer and hackers at a loose end and looking for work.I haven't had a phone call since it started I'm starting ti miss them

Well done again Thailand. You're fighting wars with 3 of the 4 countries that border your country. Don't worry, you'll win them all. Just like every student wins at school.

  • Good action of the Indians.. The border dispute is going on for more than a decade and is now used to gain votes for the next election. I am sure people living around the border don't have  problem on

I don't know how many countries are at war with Thailand but I do know that Donald Trump the peace maker has solved them all.

surprised it took so long, , for an anti Trump comment I mean

A PR mistake, in an otherwise nicely planned and executed operation. Had my doubts but I got more and more impressed as it unfolded.

me too,  but I'm happy its stopped as I live only 10km from the border, although it might be a little bit further now

The Thai tourism authorities had not commented on whether the online campaign could affect travel from India.

Well firstly how could the tourism authorities know , and secondly its hardly an online "campaign" just a few whinging bed wetters, it will  all be  forgotten about by New Year

Prime minister Modi of India should not let this go.

He must stop all tourism to Thailand as retaliation.

If he doesn't it's embarassing.

DO IT.

Wanton, senseless destruction of a religious deity by Thailand. As @KhunBENQ says above "Talkiban level?". This makes Thailand look bad IMO.

A definite shot n the foot

Well, a 2-watt bulb with LEDs gives off a lot of light.
On closer inspection, it's not such a good comparison after all.

This is about Indian national prestige. If the country lets this go and continues to send tourists to Thailand then the country will be a laughing stock around the world.

The dishonour is immense. No amount of excuses i have seen these past few days should excuse the slight on the honour.

They even bloody filmed it and posted it online ! Might as well have taken a dump on the Indian flag for how bad this is.

Simply no more Indian tourists to Thailand as retaliation.

I’m not sure how Thailand could withstand the economic hit of Indian tourists boycotting the country — a devastating 1,000 THB, no doubt.

1000 baht is that in 100 baht notes?

🤣🤣🚀

So the latest cake of tourism, originating from India, is now being insulted and upset - apart from invading foreign territory. Latter is exactly what the Thais blame the Cambodians having done.

Tilt, 1:0 again - for the non-Thais again!

Go Thailand. Go in hard. Take out the Hun dynasty and bring democracy to Cambodia. It use to be a beautiful country and beautiful people before the  murderous Khmer Rouge/ communist takeover.

There is zeroThailand needs to bring democracy to Thailand before complaining about other countries first. The entire government in Thailand is run by the military which.   no longer has anyone to provide checks and balances. The former short term PM tried to criticize the military and got thrown out. The very popular PM candidate also lost out to the military. Zero democracy in Thailand

Who ordered this barbaric act? Should all be punished to the max.

How low can you go?

Taliban level?

Did you break your pearl necklace with this  faux outrage?

It was a cheap cement statue  erected a decade ago and had absolutely no cultural or historical significance. Nor was it a UNESCO protected statue. The concrete depiction was erected in violation of the. existing border agreement that stated no building without joint national approval.

Modi is a nationalist bully who panders to uneducated mobs.  His M.O. is to  use religious themes and to target other nationalities or religions. He is a man without scruples.

One can only hope! As the old Thai people say, if you see a snake coming to your left and an Indian coming to your right hit the Indian over the head first 😆

I wonder if this dose of reality will stop the media social justice warriors all around the world telling Thailand that what they did was an act of a barbarous regime like the Taliban.  Unlikely - they are full steam ahead with their woke indignation and liberal hate - and they so often need to vent.  But as always it will all blow away and they will forget, as they move on to their next social justice target somewhere around the world.

How do you get that?  Thailand has no conflict with Laos, Myanmar or Malaysia.

Thanks, but  it has. Not border disputes like with Cambodia, but:-

Laos  - illegal scammers fleeing crack-downs in Burma for the scam centres in the Kings Roman complex and elsewhere, crossing  the Mekong from Chiang Rai Province.

Myanmar - cross border incursions and shootings by Burmese freedom fighters and the Tatmadaw

Malaysia - Muslim insurgency in the Southern Provinces (roots go back to 1948, but it wasn't until 2004 that the high death rate started - and it is still going on!

Vishnu is on the emblem of the Cambodian Engineering Corps. It's not some old religious site, but a recently constructed military monument that Cambodia built in a disputed area.

And Buddhists should not be violent...

Officials stated that the operation shown in the video was conducted for area management and security purposes and was not intended to target religious symbols or beliefs.

That's pretty lame excuse and it's almost a Trump type excuse that's likely to inflame things even more. Dumb. Really dumb.

Really hard for you to post anything without having to put Trump's name in it. How many statues has Trump authorized torn down. If I recall all of the statues in the US that were torn down were by woke Dems. You have three more years, hope your head doesn't implode before he is out.

According to Indian media reports cited by the Times of India, the statue was constructed in 2014 and is located in Cambodia’s An Ses area, roughly 100 metres from the Thai border.

So in Cambodia not Thailand but Thailand thinks it's ok to go into another country (even if only 100 metres) & destroy something that isn't theirs! Guess that would be classed as an invasion & stupid own goal considering they want the Indian tourists

They will be an even bigger laughing stock if, after all the outrage, they just keep coming , which they will

Nah , because one of them will claim that Christianity was forced upon them by the evil British colonialists  and as such , fully justified

Whether it is Cambodian land   or Thai land  is currently a matter of  opinion and, shall we say ,"frank and vigorous  debate" as far as the two countries involved  are concerned   it has nothing to do with what India or any other country  or anybody else at all thinks. Including you and me and all the others on here.

Yes you are correct , Thailand  thought it was absolutely Ok to do what they  did,  Both sides thought it was perfectly ok that their actions would inevitably result in the deaths of soldiers and civilians , or result in people getting their legs blown off possibly years in the future from land mines

Upsetting a few whinging netizens  is obviously "tragic" but of no consequence, there will be no further adverse effects on tourism   from this incident

On the other hand , news emerging of slave labour, and all sorts of atrocities  in the cambodian scammer camps will certainly be putting people off from going there

YES YES YES I encourage all Indians to boycott Thailand the only people that will miss them are the ladyboys in Pattaya

I can't believe how soft Modi has been, barely even any mutterings.

He needs to immediately ban tourism to Thailand, and urge his citizens to visit Cambodia.

We can but only hope.
