Sorry, but Epstein will bother the Magastanies further on.

But I don't want to upset you too much. So a few more other issues about the occupier of the white house could be listed.

Fun factor: Every day the list can be expanded...

"You obviously have no idea what a 'cult' is"!!

You have just proven what it is by your inane comment as you are part of it and you don't realise it!!

Quite the contrary, you have proven that you have no idea what you are talking about....again!

I will explain so even you can understand!

Calling MAGA a cult means a person is misusing the word.

A real cult involves isolation, financial exploitation, total control, and inability to leave freely.

MAGA is just a large group of people with strong political opinions and loyalty to a leader—common in politics, not a cult.

They’re throwing around a serious term to insult opponents, not describing reality accurately.

Followers of Obama, Biden, Clinton, and other major politicians often exhibit the same kind of passionate loyalty and tribalism as MAGA supporters.

  • Obama: His 2008 campaign inspired near-messianic fervor with "Hope and Change" slogans, massive rallies, and celebrity-like adoration. Critics called it a "cult of personality" too.

  • Biden: His base shows strong devotion, especially among unions, minorities, and progressives who see him as a defender against Trumpism—echo chambers and all.

  • Clinton (Bill or Hillary): Both had die-hard fans who defended them fiercely against scandals, with Bill's charisma drawing rock-star crowds and Hillary's supporters forming tight-knit online communities.

This is standard in polarized politics: both sides have fervent bases that look "cultish" to opponents. But none qualify as actual cults—they're just enthusiastic political movements. The double standard comes when people only apply the label to the other side.

Gold and dollar weakening if he goes for Greenland - US Thai cheerleaders may end up paying for their pocket books. Claude projectons 'just for fun' ! Welcome to Brexit boys - self indflcited economic damage postering as soverignity but in this case stealing someone elses.

The Greenland move would signal to global markets that even NATO allies aren't safe from US economic coercion. This destroys the predictability that underpins the dollar's reserve currency status. World leaders have started to doubt the shape of US diplomatic relationships and stability, prompting a significant shift in the US Dollar Al Jazeera

Current situation (January 2026):

USD/THB is around 31.15-31.50 baht

The dollar has already weakened about 8% against the baht in 2025 (from highs of 34.89 in April to lows of 31.04 in December)

The forecast shows it going to around 30.43-30.76 by July 2026

If Trump escalates with Greenland, I need to factor in:

Further dollar weakness due to NATO alliance breakdown

Gold continuing to rise

Global de-dollarization accelerating

Safe-haven flight from the dollar

Let me create a scenario mapping.

Let me map out a 6-month dollar-baht scenario if Trump pushes the Greenland strategy:

Current Baseline (January 2026):

USD/THB rate is down -7.87

Time

% in 2025, with the dollar having decreased in value compared to the Thai Baht

Current rate: ~31.15 baht per dollar

Forecast without major geopolitical shock: July 2026 at 30.43 baht

CNN

(gradual weakening)

If Trump Sets Greenland Deadline (Month 1-2):

Immediate dollar weakness: 32 → 29-30 baht range

Markets price in NATO alliance risk

European retaliation tariffs announced

Flight to gold accelerates

Escalation Phase (Month 3-4):

Trump imposes tariffs on Denmark/EU

Counter-tariffs hit US exports

Dollar loses more safe-haven premium

Baht strengthens: 28-29 baht per dollar

Central banks accelerate dollar diversification

Crisis Peak (Month 5-6):

Two possible scenarios:

Scenario A - "Deal" Reached:

Some face-saving agreement on Greenland

Dollar stabilizes: 29-30 baht

But permanent damage to dollar trust

Baht remains strong vs historical norms

Scenario B - Actual Takeover:

NATO fractures

Major de-dollarization wave

Dollar crashes: 27-28 baht (or lower)

Thai baht becomes relative safe haven

Gold at $5,000+/oz

What This Means for You in Bangkok:

Your purchasing power changes dramatically:

Today: $1,000 = 31,150 baht

6 months (moderate): $1,000 = 29,000 baht (7% loss)

6 months (severe): $1,000 = 27,000 baht (13% loss)

Wild Card: Thailand's exposure

Thailand has strong US trade ties

But also pivoting to China

Baht could strengthen even more if seen as stable Asian currency while dollar wobbles

The baht hitting 28-29 per dollar would be the strongest it's been since 2013. For dollar holders in Thailand, that's a serious hit to purchasing power.

If you had $100,000 in January 2025:

Then: 3,425,000 baht

Now (Jan 2026): 3,115,000 baht (already lost 310,000 baht)

July 2026 moderate: 2,900,000 baht (lost 525,000 baht total)

July 2026 severe: 2,750,000 baht (lost 675,000 baht total)

The really concerning part is that half the damage has already happened (the dollar already dropped ~9% in 2025). If Trump follows through with Greenland threats, you're looking at another 7-12% drop over 6 months—which would be an accelerated pace compared to the already-significant 2025 decline.

For expats and dollar holders in Thailand, this would be brutal.

Nice, but your lines have absolutley nothing to do with the criminal in chief Donald Trump.

TLDR; basically if Trump does fracture NATO go into Greenland there will be a lfight away from the dollar and for us here the Baht safe haven and soaring gold will be doubly impacted. But the pound surges against the dollar which stems a loss against the baht.

Here's a realistic simulation of what Trump is actually doing

("A real cult involves isolation, financial exploitation, total control, and inability to leave freely") comes from cult studies experts and psychologists specializing in harmful groups (e.g., Steven Hassan's BITE model, ICSA, Margaret Singer, Robert Lifton).

They distinguish destructive cults from benign religions or fan groups by these manipulative/harmful traits.

Dictionaries reflect general/broad usage (etymology from Latin "cultus" = worship/care), including neutral (e.g., ancient cults) and popular senses (cult movie). They avoid narrow clinical definitions to cover all common meanings.

Dictionaries are correct for the broad, everyday meaning of “cult”: any system of intense devotion, especially religious, or a small group with unusual beliefs. Under this definition, MAGA is not a cult (it’s not religious, not small, not a formal worship system).

Cult experts (Hassan, ICSA, Lalich, etc.) are correct when they describe destructive/high-control cults—the dangerous ones that isolate, exploit, brainwash, and trap people. Their criteria (BITE model, etc.) are designed specifically to identify abusive groups like Jonestown or NXIVM.

Both definitions are valid; they just answer different questions:

  • Dictionary: “Does the word ‘cult’ technically apply here in common English?” → No for MAGA.

  • Experts: “Does this group exhibit the coercive, harmful patterns of a destructive cult?” → Also no for MAGA.
