US job growth is tanking.

The numbers are in, and they're grim. They're the worst they've been since (ta-da!) the last time Trump was president. Well done in electing the wrecking ball for a 2nd time!clap2

'US job growth stuck at stall speed in December'

"Businesses are also holding back on hiring, unsure of their staffing needs as they invest heavily in artificial intelligence. The economy is experiencing a jobless expansion, with growth and worker productivity surging in the third quarter, which was partly attributed to AI.

"All roads lead to the unemployment rate ... it should douse the Fed's recent urgency to backstop a weakening labor market," said Olu Sonola, head of U.S. economic research at Fitch Ratings. "That said, the weak job-growth story can't be brushed aside. Hiring is still stuck in stall speed, and job growth in the cyclical parts of the economy isn't sending a comforting signal.""

Not often I agree with former VP Mike Pence:

Worst numbers snice Covid. Well done, Donald. The USA is going the way of your casinos.

Not to mention the fact that, as was often the case during the last decade, they may well be revised down later.

Still 2 million more native born jobs than when Biden's autopen left office, less than a year ago.

You keep posting the same debunked data over and over....😀

The unemployment rate of native born has increased under Trump.

What debunked? The employment level is one number. Jobs. There's 2 million more now. Along with over 2 million more native born workers in the labor pool. That's what's causing the increase in the unemployment rate. Growth in the labor pool.

Personally, I think it's great that over 2 million more native born Americans have entered the labor pool since Biden's autopen left office. That means they have some optimism, and aren't sitting on their unemployed fannies because they can't compete with cheap illegal labor. (Not to mention those that need to be at least looking for a job to get their welfare benefits, under Trump programs)

I already debunked it when you made that claim before. They changed the controls and other stuff. Of course, as a good MAGA echo chamber you post the same debunked claim over and over.

Fact is that native born unemployment rate has increased.

https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/LNU02073413

Oh and the native born participation rate also decreased. To use your own words, it seems that a larger share of them is "sitting on their unemployed fannies"!

https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/LNU01373413

In summary, the unemployment rate of native born increased while the labor participation rate of native born decreased! Both indicators are converging to show that the native born employment situation has worsened under Trump! 😅

It can also be noticed, as it was one of Trump's major promises, that 'goods producing" or "manufacturing" job numbers decreased under Trump. 😄

That's what's called a statistical artefact. Not connected to reality.

In fact, not even the White House denies it. Just offers bluster instead

Trump says the job market is booming for U.S.-born. The data doesn’t show it.

In fact, data shows that U.S.-born workers are doing moderately worse under Trump than they were under President Joe Biden because the labor market has we kened — partly due to a sharp slowdown in immigration.

“The unemployment rate has been rising for both native-born and foreign-born adults,” said Jed Kolko, a senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics and a former Commerce Department economist.

Taylor Rogers, a White House spokeswoman, said in a statement to The Washington Post that “mindless nitpicking doesn’t change the simple fact that President Trump has done more for American workers than any president in history by cracking down on visa program abuses, successfully negotiating new trade deals, securing our border, and carrying out the largest mass deportation of illegal aliens.”

The graph above shows that the percentage of employed native born Americans working vs the entire population of native born Americans is actually falling. What's more the total number of native born Americans of working age is also falling. So, how does that translate into 2 million more employed native Americans? It doesn't.

I didn't see your post until after I posted mine. I also posted a fuller explanation previously in another thread. Anyway, the article I linked to offers an excellent and full explanation of what's going on. I am confident Impulse will read it and emerge from the experience a wiser person.

Fat chance of that happening!!

I suspect the#s are much much worse simply because the bureaucracy is terrified of speaking truth to power, this president thinks nothing of ruining careers and American families if they don’t doctor facts to make him look better.he is what he is.

The explanations are likely too complicated for AN, that's why I now stick to basic indicators. The rate of native born unemployment has increased while at the same time the share of native born who are not participating in the job market has also increased.

It could also be noticed that the baby boom generations are retiring, which should have a positive impact on unemployment.
