I get it my comment was too difficult for you to understand.

Sorry about that.

The only thing you should be sorry about, is to not know or when given information, what the difference between terrorists and freedom-fighter are. Now please go concentrate on that and come back when you reached clarity. I know, I am asking for much. Probably have to wait a long, long time.

The irony is you have no clue my comment is a famous line used in many different scenarios over time and history.

Just let it go now before you dig any deeper.

Oh yes, and I have heard it before. lack of relevance, as it´s still same wrong.

I haven't heard much about this stuff in a while. Now they make a comeback with 11 fuel stations. Why now?

Where is Thaksin these days?

(do a search on Tak Bai)

Elections are coming, it's reminder the recent governments have done nothing and a resolution is no nearer

Nothing about religion here, they want independency. Lear history about these 3 provinces.

Actually the majority of Thai-Malays are happy to remain Thai, they don't want to join Malaysia and they don't want to be an independent country, what they do want is acceptance of their culture and language. The 2006 recommendations of the National Reconciliation Commission were rejected by the privy council because it included a provision to "Declare Pattani Malay an additional working language in the southern border provinces" at the time Prem Tinsulanonda dismissed the idea saying "there is only one language in Thailand, and that is Thai". Twenty years on there has been no progress in finding a solution to the southern conflict.

To where precisely, that is their home, they were part of a land swap between Siam and Britain which they had no say in.

Spoils of war to the victor ... accept it, it's history.

Thing is, the terrorist probably aren't even locals. As they'll kill anyone, Muslims, Buddhist, etc.

They are local, the problem is there is more than one conflict involved. In addition to the southern conflict between Thai-Malay and government forces, there is conflict between the various insurgency movements themselves and significantly, conflict for control of the smuggling routes for people, drugs and goods between Thailand and Malaysia; there's a lot of money involved.

Terrorists: In contrast, terrorists are seen as individuals or groups that use violence and fear to achieve their political or ideological goals. They often target civilians, aiming to create chaos and instill terror in the population. Terrorist acts are characterized by their indiscriminate nature, often resulting in significant civilian casualties.

Which generally isn't the case, they haven't planted bombs in Bangkok night clubs or Pattaya bars, they usually target economic or infrastructure targets within the southern provinces; railway line, cell towers, convenience stores, petrol stations etc.

Police have identified five suspects believed to be involved in the recent coordinated bombing and arson attacks on 11 petrol stations across Yala, Pattani, and Narathiwat in Thailand. The incidents, which occurred early last Sunday, have led to increased security measures and heightened tensions in the region.

The Southern Border Provinces Investigation Division, led by Deputy Chief Pol Col Thatpichai Jarnwaranon, revealed that forensic evidence from the attack sites pointed to these individuals. Notably, three of the suspects have prior criminal records involving violence in Narathiwat and Pattani, indicating a potential link to ongoing regional unrest.

Investigations highlighted the recovery of bullet casings from firearms used in the attacks, which matched those from past incidents targeting security personnel and civilians. These previous attacks include incidents in Sai Buri and Mai Kaen districts, and the murder of a civilian last July. Authorities have already questioned two individuals from Yala and Narathiwat, as they continue to expand their investigation.

Col Ekwasrit Chobchupol of the Internal Security Operations Command emphasized the agency’s dedication to solving the case quickly. He stated that bringing the perpetrators to justice remains a top priority for law enforcement agencies, as they work to ensure stability in the affected provinces.

Looking forward, authorities are intensifying their investigation efforts, deploying additional resources to track down all involved parties. Security operations in the region may be reinforced to prevent further attacks and safeguard civilians, reported Bangkok Post.

Key Takeaways

  • Five suspects identified in southern Thailand petrol station attacks.

  • Forensic evidence links suspects to recent and past violent incidents.

  • Authorities prioritize swift justice and increased regional security.
