Oh no! -- It's curtains for local expat favorite hotmeals2u.com

Featured Replies

RIP -- hotmeals2u,com and best of luck to the owners and staff from there.

Well loved by mostly North American local expats, hotmeals2u,com has served comforting and reasonably priced American and Americanized Mexican favorites as a delivery only restaurant for many years.

But sadly that's over now.

First clue was their ordering website stopped taking orders all this week, and the software behind that noted that the restaurant had been removed.

Then a search confirmed the worst (on Facebook) --

Perhaps people want to share their memories about exeriences with this service, their favorite dishes, etc.

They had a great market.

I'm curious to know how many years they were serving. I think at least ten years and maybe much more. Does anyone know?

I do know a little background on what probably led to this sad outcome.

They had been for all these years operating as a delivery restaurant connected to Tigglebitties. However, in recent months for reasons I don't know. Tigglebitties separated from them. They had to open in a new location, set up a new kitchen, and probably had staffing issues related to the big change as well.

I reckon the closing wasn't about not having a market, they clearly had a market, but rather some kind of business structure related issues.

Well if wasn't really a restaurant, was it?

Speaking of Tigglebitties, you can get the same or similar dishes as hotmeals2u at their restaurant. As far as I know, not on a delivery app though. They still list hotmeals2u on their FB page.

It was the ordering system for Tigglebitties. I would be interested to know if they are migrating to Grab. This was one of our favorite deliveries.

So, as it stands it's not possible to get a delivery from the Tigglebitties menu (as you say, the Facebook page is still showing hotmeals2u for delivery)? I'll be gutted if that is the case.

Due another trip to Jomtien next month. Always had a delivery a few times per trip via the hotmeals2u website. Great food and the Mrs even enjoyed their Thai offerings.

If you find out anything further can you update please.

I'm unclear on what the exact business relationship was between the two over the years but yes from the customer POV, you're correct.

In any case they ended it.

My info says the restaurant ended it.

But the new hotmeals was doing the same menu items as before from a new location which was weird if it was just a matter of changing delivery systems.

Yes it was a good service for sure.

I will miss them.

I will check to see if Tigglebities ever gets on a delivery app, but if they did they would need to raise prices, and the price point with free delivery was a major selling point for hotmeals.

In Jomtien I always got the same driver for many years. I hope he will be OK. I always tipped and also did New Year's special tips, but he was gruff in a kind of charming way.

I am not sure what your blabbering about Jinthing but their app looks to be working fine to me.....

Well after a closer look I see their website is not dead but its also not fully operational....

Also a darkside address keeps popping up when I am looking at their location on the website....Maybe they are moving their location?

Oh jeez

Read the topic!

They had already moved to that new location and had been operating from.there independent of Tigglebitties in recent months.

But that reboot has ended.

It is closed.

Period.

Maybe, but Food Panda closed and they had every restaurant under the sun included.

Foodpanda made loss of 13 billion baht whilst it was operating in Thailand according to the parent company Delivery Hero.

Ok I live right near Tigglebitties I will go there in person to find out what the real deal is with delivery...
