The Return of The Black Panthers

Featured Replies

Black Panthers seem to be making a comeback. I'm sure MAGA is applauding concerned citizens armed with assault weapons patrolling the streets, right?thumbsup

'Philadelphia chapter of Black Panther Party provides support amid tension between public and ICE'

"The Black Panther Party for Self-Defense showed up to provide support in Philly amid rising tensions with ICE.

As tensions between the public and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement mount following an ICE agent’s shooting and killing of an unarmed U.S. citizen in Minneapolis, the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense has shown up in a supportive capacity in Philadelphia — and they didn’t come to play.

Last week, members claiming to belong to the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense’s Philadelphia chapter attended an anti-ICE demonstration at Philadelphia City Hall."

Interesting comments from the Black Panthers. They seem to be very law and order oriented. MAGA must love these guys!

'Black Panther Party says no one 'would have gotten touched' if they were present in Minneapolis amid ICE protests'

"Members of the Black Panther Party were seen at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) protest in Philadelphia following the tragic death of Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis, saying "if we were there, not a single person would have gotten touched," The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

The group, which identifies as part of the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense, is an entity of the 1960s militant Black power group founded by Huey P. Newton and Bobby Seale. Members showed up to the Jan. 8 anti-ICE protest at Philadelphia City Hall, with military-style weapons in hand, in response to the violence dished out by the Trump administration."

The problem with this is any violence against the ICE thugs could enable Trump to enact the Insurrection Act, which is what he wants.

That is true. But it was obvious that it was only a matter of time before groups of people had had enough of the ICE nazi s**t and decided to push back.

Not saying it's a good thing, because it obviously plays into what the traitors in the WH, and their enablers, are trying to accomplish. Just saying that it was kinda inevitable.

Call me a cynic, but I have a sneaking feeling that MAGA won't like these people exercising their (apparently) god given 2nd Amnd. rights after all.🤣

Isn't it funny how the "Black Lives Matter" crowd all stand by Renee Good, while the "White Lives Matter" stand by her murderer?

Although Eldridge Cleaver is best known for being a revolutionary as co-founder of the Black Panthers, along with Huey Newton and Bobby Seale, he was also a 1968 Presidential candidate for the Peace and Freedom party.

While living in Paris in the 1970s he turned to fashion design, releasing a codpiece-revival "virility pants" he called "the Cleavers" to give men "a chance to assert their masculinity".

I saw Eldridge Cleaver deliver a speech about 45 years ago. According to his Wikipedia he became a republican around then.

Yep, most became true capitalist after they saw the light (source AI)

... Angela Davis - estimations often placing her net worth in the range of $1 million to $5 million

... Eldridge Cleaver - his 1968 memoir, Soul on Ice, was a massive bestseller that sold two million copies within a few years of its release

... Jerry Rubin - counterculture activist, was earning around $600,000 annually as a health drink marketer, transitioning from radicalism to capitalism

Can't imagine why.

The 1967 appearance of armed members of the Black Panther Party in California directly led to a major gun law change, the Mulford Act of 1967, which prohibited the public carrying of loaded firearms and was specifically designed to disarm the Panthers due to their armed patrols against police brutality, leading to bipartisan support and even the NRA's backing for stricter controls.

They were afraid of black people exercising their 2nd amendment rights I suppose.

Agreed?

PS. Wonder where all the resident MAGA enthusiasts are!😁

All gun control laws have a racist origin. Good to see folks exercising their rights, even when I disagree with their political stance.

PS I never saw a Black Panther at Knob Creek though. ARs are cheap, a Thompson is $30,000.
