February 6Feb 6 The OP mentions "Britain's recent plan to return control of Diego Garcia, part of the Chagos Archipelago, to Mauritius. That's inaccurate. The Chagos Is. were never owned or controlled by Mauritius. They were administered by the French, then the British, from Mauritius. Despite being moved to parts of Mauritius, the Seychelles and the UK in 1965, the native Chagossian people have already voiced their desire to remain British.
