First of all, it was Yagoda who drew that distinction. But actually, to be fair, he shares that view with the majority of Americans. They remember how Trump has repeatedly claimed that he was going after the dangerous criminals, the murderers, the rapists, etc. So when they see that the majority of the people are nothing of the sort, they feel that they've been lied to. Which is not unreasonable, since that's the case. I will say this for Trump. His most popular issue is still immigration:
