January 23Jan 23 I am considering 13 X 4 meter solar structure, and I am looking for a contractor in the Taling Chan area of Bangkok. Does anyone have a recommendation?
January 23Jan 23 Author I also have a question about three phase. With three phase, would the panels not be in multiples of three, or does the power from the panels get "divided" in the inverter(s)?

With three phase, would the panels not be in multiples of three, or does the power from the panels get "divided" in the inverter(s)?The panels/batteries provide DC and DC doesn't have "phases" so it's effectively all in one lump. The inverter(s) then convert the DC to 3-phase AC, same voltage for each phase but the energy is divided between the phases as required by the load each phase sees. Generally one tries to keep the phase loads roughly equal, it's not vital but will keep your inverter happy. "I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

January 23Jan 23 Author I have a guy quoting Aiko inverters and panels. Is this considered good equipment? QTY of 1, Sun-10K-G03 inverterQTY of 17, Aiko N-type ABC Module, Comet series, 670WWould that not overload the inverter?

I am not interested in selling back, and I may want to add batteries in the future or even now.Budget quote is B194K for the solar, and B62K for the free-standing structure.
January 24Jan 24 Author Before I pull the trigger on the solar, I want to track my usage for a few months. I do not have historical data, because we are in a new house, we are in the process of upgrading to three-phase, and we are installing all new air conditioners. I'd like something that I can at least track peak kw and kwh per day, per phase, and cumulatively.Do these typically come with a app/website to view and store the data?I was looking at the Shelly Pro 3EM, but the couple of videos I watched were not real helpful with the software and what I want to do.Shelly Pro 3EM DIN Mountable 3 Phase Energy Meter Photovoltaic Rady Reports Accumulat Energy Instantaneous Voltage Current Power | Lazada.co.thAny suggestions? I like cheap, but I like easy better...(gotta be a joke there)Thanks!
February 16Feb 16 Author Looks like I get my new meter on Tuesday or Wednesday.I ended up ordering this Emporia Vue 3 energy monitor from Amazon. Free shipping, so with tax and duty, $234.50 delivered. This will let me track 16 separate circuits, which should cover all my AC and hot water.

You might need voltage regulator if the drop is significant to protect your inverter and batteries, as well AC´s, tv´s and also fridges and freezers, ,,,

February 16Feb 16 Author 9 minutes ago, Crossy said:Is this unit suitable for use on 230V 50Hz??Yes, up to 264VAC L-N, 50/60 Hz. This is the email response I got from their live customer support staff to the questions I asked: Hello XXXXXx, thank you for your interest in the Emporia Vue Energy Monitor! To answer your questions: 1) Based on the Amperage/Voltage/Etc. info you provided in your first email, yes, the monitor is compatible with this electrical panel. 2) The 200A CTs will have no problem going around 2AWG / the 50A CTs have an internal window diameter of 10mm and 2AWG insulated wire has a diameter of about 9.6mm so it would be close. 3) We do have a circuit merging feature in the app. So by default the CTs will show readings for all 3 legs of the 3phase circuit separately, but you can merge them into a singular readings with one overarching circuit name in the app for easy data readings. 4) If the 3 Phase Circuit is a Balanced Load across the 3 phases, then you can monitor one circuit line and in the app we have a setting called "Multiplier" so you can change that from the default of 1x to 3x to account for the 2 unmonitored circuit lines. If it is an unbalanced load, then you really should monitor each line and merge them. 5) We don't have an add on perse, but you are able to install multiple energy monitors in the same electrical panel and then we have a Vue Combining feature in the app which will get the UI to display them as a singular monitor with an extended circuit list. 6) Hourly, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Yearly data is stored indefinitely in the Emporia Cloud, and is viewable on the Mobile App and Desktop (at web.emporiaenergy.com) Seconds data is stored for 3 hours at a time, and minutes data is stored for 7 days at a time. If you need to keep a 3 hour seconds chunk or 7 days of minutely data, we do have the ability to export the data into a CSV file so you can run an export during times when needed. Local Storage will also be released at a later date/ 7) Can export to CSV for Excel, etc. 8) The antenna is supposed to be outside of the electrical panel, or it can be placed behind drywall if the panel is in the wall. Just outside of the metal panel is highly recommended. If needed, there is an ethernet port.

Been there, done that. Fortunately, most of that was while i was working, and spending company money.I let you know how it goes.
February 21Feb 21 Author I received the monitor today and I'm really impressed with the look and feel, seems very robust.Should get the 3ph meter this week!
