Go on, show us a photo of the neighbours, instead of the paddy fields.

Closest neighbors in sight in the picture, and two more behind. No more neighbors in 500m

Get a kindle, download a thousand books.

Learn guitar. Start will a nylon string.

Get an inexpensive micro four thirds camera, Panasonic or Olympus, and walk around your area.

Try writing short stories.

Looks scary ...I once a few years ago I rented a car from the City in Australia to go a few days in the Countryside with a friend

We noticed a dead animals in fact many on the side of the road

Kangaroos ,wombats etc , I immediately stopped and dialled triple 000

About 20 minutes later a country cop complete with his slouch hat arrived and started abusing us calling us terrible names and ordering me back to the City

I will never go to the country again !!!

I'm a born country idiot, so no problem, I can handle it. As you see, I got bigger glass balcony than the fellas you crying out about in Pattaya living with their doors open so you can see how they got it.

Here in 10 years I paid down my investment if comparing a rent vs a small studio the size of my balcony.

How is your boxing going?

I'm in Bangkok next month. Come meet me in a restaurant Terry. Then you can speak to me and see if I'm impressive or not. If I'm boring get up and leave and I will pay the bill.

Nice. That's a pretty desperate gay online pickup approach. Not interested. I do not swing that way. Are you also planning to cover my flight from Hanoi to Bangkok for our little rendezvous, or is that extra?

I've been growing my own cannabis. It's more difficult than I imagined, and I've only once in two years grown something exceptional, but it's a fun project.

Even if the plant doesn't turn out well, I like watching the reactions of Thais who come by and happen to see one growing in a pot. You can learn a lot about a person in watching how they react. A straight-laced Muslim woman in a hijab seemed very approving and familiar with it, for example.

I went through the painful process of teaching myself to grow it. Tried outdoors 1st but bugs ate everything. Then bought a grow tent and all the gear. Set it up in an unused shower room. Tried organic but overfed and then followed advice synthetic/hydroponic and got results.1 oz per

Being productive or increasing productivity was a term used by the bosses during your working life to make them more money while paying you the same. And most of us fell for it. Sadly.

Productive?? (And most of us fell for it. Sadly.) As did I. I worked at a Pulp Mill and never refused overtime work for 2 decades. I finally saw the light and refused all OT and told them to remove my name from the list. Thing is I never even noticed the difference in my standard of living. It was futile because taxes took half . In hindsight I sacrificed all that free time for nothing. OT at time and a half was a fools game. Only grateful for the extra pension income nowadays.

Yes, most radio amateurs verbally 'chat', but actually, I have very rarely spoken with any other radio ham, since getting my ham licence some 45 years ago! I find most of their conversations to be rather boring... Instead I usually dabble in SSTV - sending and receiving photos or images, such as photos of Lao temples when operating from Laos, or images of Thai food when operating from Thailand. (Others send female nude images, but I find that rather tasteless).

Yes, I can easily contact others on the other side of the world by email or WhatsApp. But for me, it's a technical challenge of designing and building a simple antenna from a few metres of wire, that can propagate my image to the other side of the world with just a few watts of energy.

Here's one of the SSTV images that I send from Laos :)

CQ.jpg

Very cool.

Can you explain in terms an idiot could understand how you with an image in one location can send it to another? I presume it's laptop via antenna to laptop right?
