Flight cancellations from Europe.

Featured Replies

Hi all, there’s been news on TV that some flights to Dubai and area have been cancelled , I certainly saw Air France and BA. I am currently in France and watching the news as I’ll be coming back to Thailand via Dubai with Emirates, on the 8th Feb.

I haven’t seen anything published , or heard from Emirates yet.

I know no one has a Crystel ball, but is there a possibility that Emirates can avoid the Dubai stopover,( change of planes) if needed ?

I somehow doubt that they would cancel all flights due to the present situation.

Thanks.

Whatever might happen in the region the chances that Emirates would reroute connecting flights avoiding Dubai are nil.

And, this from Al Jazeera - temporary suspension of flights into Dubai, now back to normal apparently.

So you can ignore my post above.

Im in France not US. It was on French news this morning ,and UK, that due to the «  armada » arriving near Iran flights might be canceled. They didn’t mention Emirates , but Air France and BA yes. Thanks .

KLM flights - AMS-DXB cancelled - but not Emirates flights - same route (and those KLM code share)

Air-France flights - CGD-DXB - Landed in Dubai today

BA flights - LON-DXB - Landed in Dubai today

Anyone in the Middle East (not Iran of course) would tell you - life is normal.

I'm curios about this question... avoid the Dubai stopover ??? what do you mean ?

Unless air-space is closed... airlines (mostly) will not impact profit.

Airspace between Thailand and Europe can afford war in Ukraine OR in the Middle-East, not both.

No. EK cannot fly direct, non-stop between CDG and BKK. Fifth-freedom, among other restraints.

Normally, airlines can re-route around danger zones, in your case CDG-DXB.

You're flying in two weeks so there's no way to predict what might happen.

Hi , expressed myself badly. I meant could Emirates go to an airport other than Dubai , IF Dubai was shut down ? I’m not very knowledgeable concerning that area .

Just read in a German news article.

Emirates flights to Dubai will take considerably longer as Irak and Iran airspace are avoided.

They are flying over Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

Better reconfirm that your connection at Dubai will work.

Simple answer, No. They operate 500 flights/day (in/out) through DXB so that's a lot to go to somewhere else, not to mention temporarliy relocating thousands of employees.

Back to normal today for the first DXB-MUC flight.
