Interesting to watch Karoline Leavitt breathing before answering the question, she knows it’s bad. Being she is pregnant, she better get out of that job before she miscarries.

The optics are bad enough on this that the dominoes are starting to fall.

Let's pretend (we are stupid) and there was a reason for the shooting, the first shot, what about the other 9 (we can't even pretend to be that stupid) ? These ICE agents and all USA police watching too many die hard movies!

Have you ever done it? The record is less that one second. I used to be able to do 8 rounds in 8 seconds, when I was younger and in shape and I was slow. Jerry Michulek could do 6 in 2 seconds. Keanu Reeves runs a course in 10 and he started late.

Funnily enough, I have - From thigh holster draw to shot on target 0.99 second, follow up round 1.19 seconds. By the way I did it twice as the Instructor couldn't believe it at first. My Instructor, a retired Navy SEAL, reckoned I could do 6 in 2 seconds at that speed but that was not part of the training. He was firmly against the type of spray and pray seen in the execution of Mr. Pretti.

I was mid 30's and in average shape (round is a shape!)

Several years ago, aged 60 ish, I did 15 rounds in 4-5 seconds producing 3" groups.

As for your 8 rounds in 8 seconds, were you using a muzzle loader, old boy?

Your comment shows how stupid you are.

Just in case - Would justify the drawing of weapons. Discharge of the weapon is subject to an assessment of any imminent threat posed to life by a person holding a deadly weapon. Pretti never put his hands on his weapon as it was taken from him before the shooting.

Obstructing Traffic and Resisting Arrest - In the first place there is no video footage showing any evidence of those two crimes, which in themselves do not justify deadly force.

Carrying a Firearm - A legally licensed permit for concealed carry and the weapon was never drawn nor flashed. I think you may wish to discuss 2nd amendment rights with the NRA.

Chaos - Officers are normally trained to deal with high stress situations, or chaos as you describe it. In this situation the chaos was started by ICE who confronted passive observers and the pepper sprayed them before manhandling them to the ground. Trained and emotionally controlled officers keep their distance first and observe the actions of alleged offenders before escalation, arrest processing or deescalation.

Training - ICE training for Enforcement and Removal Officers has been shortened from 6 months to 6 weeks.

All done from the comfort of my own living room; but with the luxury of several years as a Use of Force Instructor in a professional police force with comprehensive and effective training standards.

Let the craven apologists for murder slink back into the shadows or under a stone where they truly belong. Thanks for the insight,

Et Tu Trump ? Et tu .. A lot of the Trumpists are too disgusting even for their leader.

The president has distanced himself from the shooting, made overtures to Minnesota Democrats and sought to rein in the hardliners in his administration amid a widespread backlash to Pretti’s death.

The move threatens to leave allies like Mr Miller, the architect of the administration’s mass deportation programme, and Mr Vance exposed

If the GOP in Congress were clever, they would themselves initiate impeachment proceedings against the President. This action would be the best way for the GOP to redeem itself after a year of doing nothing. Continuing to support an imbecile does nothing but hurt the Party.

Today, I will take my conceal carry permitted gun to a protest and mess with armed officers....

I've lived long enough to recognise that things usually catch up with you in the end. Being as prominent as Trump also means there's nowhere to hide (and everyone is watching your every move). I'm just counting the days...

The Boston Massacre, known in Great Britain as the Incident on King Street,[1] was a confrontation, on March 5, 1770, during the American Revolution in Boston in what was then the colonial-era Province of Massachusetts Bay.

In the confrontation, nine British soldiers shot several in a crowd, estimated between 300 and 400, who were harassing them verbally and throwing various projectiles. The event was subsequently described as "a massacre" by Samuel Adams, Paul Revere, and other leading Patriots who later became central proponents of independence during the American Revolution and Revolutionary War.[2][3] British troops had been stationed in the Province of Massachusetts Bay since 1768 in order to support Crown-appointed officials and to enforce unpopular legislation implemented by the British Parliament.

Amid tense relations between the civilians and the soldiers, a mob formed around a British sentry and verbally abused him. He was eventually supported by seven additional soldiers, led by Captain Thomas Preston, who were hit by clubs, stones, and snowballs. Eventually, one soldier fired, prompting the others to fire without an order by Preston. The gunfire instantly killed three people and wounded eight others, two of whom later died of their wounds.[4]

We should have shot more and hung Washington from the nearest tree for insurrection along with Jefferson,Franklin and any more the King's troops could have found.

Idiots flailing in the slipstream of the Clown-in-Chief - it's over Trumpists time to shut down the circus.

https://archive.ph/dBccJ

In so doing, he is stirring the public out of an apathy that is essential to any power grab. Someone once remarked that Trump’s incompetence outruns his malevolence. That observation’s salience is on full display. Pretti was a nurse at an intensive care unit for veterans. Good was mother to a six-year-old, and her last words were: “It’s fine dude, I’m not mad at you.” Each is instantly recognisable as your friendly neighbour on any American block volunteering to shovel your snow or jump-start your car. The phrase “Minnesota nice” describes a state that is particularly known for such people. To depict them as terrorists is darkly comical and profoundly inept.

The legitimate fear is that Trump will rig the US midterm elections this November to stop a widely forecast Republican defeat. But he is robbing himself of the means to get away with it. The meta-tool available to him is public gullibility. Enough people must be willing to believe that ballot boxes are being stuffed, or illegal immigrants are being bussed to the polling booths, for any shenanigans to work. The hollow people working for him are wrecking that tool with easily discredited propaganda.

If they knew he was a CCW holder that would be even less reason to justify his killing.

In a damning article published by the WP Yesterday at 3:55 p.m. EST, a thorough, frame-by-frame review of the footage of the execution of Alex Pretti by ICE officers demonstrates how superficial and amateurish the preparation of this police force is and confirms what stated in previous comments: ICE agents should not be allowed to deal with a crowd of protesters, yelling and cursing. They lack both the training and the nerves to face it.

The odds that ICE officers' interaction with protesting crowd ends in tragedy are unusually high for the standards of developed countries where the rule of law applies.

In addition to highlighting the unpreparedness of the ICE agents, sent to face a hostile crowd, apparently without sufficient training on how to handle this type of situation, the article confirms that 10 shots were fired at poor Alex Pretti while he was lying immobilized and already unarmed on the ground.

I know that many will rise up and dismiss WP as a woke newspaper in their comments. Unfortunately for them, however, the actions visible in the videos speak for themselves, and the fact that Fox News, Newsmax, The NY Post, One America News Network, etc. fail to analyze what happened in detail speaks loud of how embarrassing and damning the video sequences are.

I see your choice of weapon is almost as old as your prejudices.

You seem to be a fan of the old traditional 0.45, without knowing that the Glock you seem to despise also comes in 0.45.

I also see you have been buried today by Trump himself, which must be humiliating for you...😀

He resisted arrest and they were struggling to subdue him.

And the gun made the ICE guys nervous.

After receiving a large amount of pepper spray to the face Mr. Pretti was struggling to see and breathe; suffering severe burning and pain an involuntary reaction would have been to seek fresh air or something to rinse the pepper spray out. He would not have been in a position to attack officers as he could not see them to aim a weapon which he had NOT taken from its holster. There is a good reason why it is carried by hikers afraid of bear attacks. Attempting to grab him at this point would have caused a 'fight or flight' reaction and he was unable to do either as several ICE officers were trying to hold him down. Persons in pain or panic are regularly recorded as showing incredible strength so subduing him, which was unnecessary in the first place, would have been very difficult.

There was absolutely no need to immediately try to subdue him immediately after the pepper spray. Professionally trained and competent officers would have stood back and observed.

Ergonomics 🤔. Let me think. Perhaps I used that when teaching both male and female police officers how to shoot accurately and effectively. The smallest female officers were approximately 55 kgs and around 5' 2" in height with very small hands. And they used the same gun, revolver and pistol, as male officers who were much larger. America does not know everything about guns.

Now you are just arguing to argue. Guess times have changed, which is why interchangeable backstraps are in vogue. Guess you dont think there is difference in ergonomics between an S&W 27 and S&W 19. But hey, tell us what models you trained folks on?
