Democrat Taylor Rehmet flips Republican state Senate district Trump won by 17 points

Yet just a day before the race, Trump had heaped praise on Republican contender Leigh Wambsganss, a conservative activist and entrepreneur, on his social media platform, declaring that she would be “a GREAT Candidate and has my Complete and Total Endorsement.”

But after the republican candidate's loss became clear, Trump told reporters Sunday at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida “I’m not involved in that. That’s a local Texas race,”.

Rehmet’s victory added to the Democrats’ record of overperforming in special elections so far this cycle, beginning in March — when they prevailed in a Pennsylvania legislative district made up of suburbanites and farmers that Democrats hadn’t held in a century — and continuing through to November, when they dominated candidate and ballot contests from Maine to California.

As the midterm elections approach, the price Republicans will have to pay for electing Trump to the highest office in the land a second time becomes clearer and more costly by the day. Never in the history of the United States has a president proven to be such a liability to the party that supported him.

The only hope is that, after this mistake, the Great Old Party will not meet the sad demise that the Conservative Party in Great Britain is experiencing right now.

There's only two possible explanations for Trump's Mar-a-Lago comment:

1) Severe dementia

2) bald-faced lying

With Trump, it's tough to tell, as "many people are saying" nobody does dementia and lying better than Trump.

My fingers are crossed for a democrat win in 2028. It will be an absolutely glorious day for democracy.

Due to Trump's narcissism, he is unable to ever accept he is wrong or he has lost in any situation. So, his comments and reactions are entirely predictable.

He will try to cancel the midterms or at the very least bring on voter suppression in a manner never seen in recent history in the USA.

Isn't he a colored fella? For some reason the white robe scene from 'Blazing Saddles' came to mind. Good luck to him. California bleeds blue and the red states turn purple. Fun to watch from afar.

And given the sharpness of the shift, I don't think immigrants from California offers much of an explanation.

I saw (didn't bother reading it) an article about the result and there was a picture of a black man who resembled the actor in Blazing Saddles. The scene with the white robes and him saying that his hands were black from burning a cross is one of the funniest scenes I've ever seen.

Many Americans are waking up and realizing the same thing, including a lot of goon supporters and including some republican congress people and senators.

Many are starting to distance themselves from him, as the polling numbers for the midterms are dismal for Republicans.
