Australian boy Austin Appelbee restores faith in humanity

Featured Replies

At such a dark time in world history that we're all living through, there are still glimmers of hope.

He doesn't claim to be a hero, but that makes him a hero even more.

Bless him and his family that he saved.

You know many people pay tens of thousands of dollars to a Sherpa guide to help them to the peak of Mt. Everest. Some make it, some are forced to turn back, and some die trying

But I don’t consider such people heros. Probably the early pioneers were though. They may be brave, they may be fools, they may be on an ego trip or to promote a commercial enterprise. But not heroes.

But what this boy did was pure, authentic, and not corrupted by money.

If he had died trying he would still.have been a hero but we wouldn't know the story.
