A foreign tourist's video of removing ice from her drink on Koh Samui has generated significant online reactions. The TikTok clip, posted by user @2brunesenasie, shows the tourist using her hand to scoop out ice cubes and discard them at a local restaurant. She explained in comments that both she and her companion were concerned about the ice's safety.

The video has led to a mix of responses from both Thai and international social media users. Many questioned why the tourist didn't simply request no ice with her drink, instead of using her hand, which some argued might be less hygienic. Comments included advice like “Just say ‘no ice’ next time,” and observations that the ice might be cleaner than her hand.

In response to the feedback, the tourist noted that she would ask for no ice in the future, which seemed to quell much of the criticism. Meanwhile, in Phuket, city officials are advancing a significant water quality project, aiming to provide residents with safe, drinkable tap water. Mayor Saroj Angkanapilas announced that the local water supply is being upgraded, with tests showing it meets health safety standards, reported The Thaiger.

So, then they removed it with a very hygienic method. 😂

Making a problem of nothing.. she drinks the drink herself, so what is the problem??? I dobit myself too sometimes

I think I am outraged at the lack of netizen outrage to this....

... "Deport them!" - "they make all us 'farangs' look bad"..... "Bet they were Brits".... "Wearing Cargo Shorts ?"....

... Oh, they were Western girls... in that case "not my cup of tea !!"

... think I covered it...

Oh yeah... there's also room for a rant about the "younger generations" ... 🫣

Human beings looked stuffed to me. Maybe an alien invasion is best. Yes I'm serious. Humans are pathetic.

In fairness the quality of some ice is not good. Yes, the ice might be delivered in the plastic bags, but so many bars just dump it into a big dirty cooler and use dirty utensils to get the ice. Even the swankiest of hotels ice machines are filthy since they are rarely if ever cleaned.
