Are there any condos or apartments near Mabprachan Lake?

Featured Replies

Hello, fellow expats.

Does anyone know if there are any condos or apartment complexes within walking distance of Mabprachan Lake that offer long-term rentals? ChatGPT claims there aren’t any, but a couple of months ago I’m pretty sure I saw at least one mid-rise building that looked like a condo (possibly still under construction). I don’t mind driving out there to have a look, but it’s about an hour from my place, so I figured I’d ask here first.

Yes, seems to be, looking at Gmaps ... you may want to describe 'close'

There is a new one called "Home by the Lake", I think construction complete now. Not sure if it has a lift or not, I just drive by it sometimes. 4 stories, appears to have covered parking on part of first floor.

These look to be "higher end" apartments that local workers might rent, doubt they are more than 25m rooms. They would be pretty 'low end' for most westerners in that area. Hopefully you're okay with the annoyance of constant traffic noise and motocys from dek-wans racing up and down rt. 4095.

It does look right out over the lake facing west, so sunsets will be very nice, although afternoon sun will be roasting hot. You could ride bicycle or walk straight across the road onto the bike/running path.

Why not rent a house? Loads of nice ones there, sometimes about same as crappy apartments downtown.

Thanks for the reply! But a noisy place isn’t for me. Anyway I appreciate everyone’s suggestions.

There used to be a cheap one called "Moonlight" or moon something. Low rise with a small swimming pool. I haven't seen listings for it in ages.

I don't know of any other than the one mentioned. As a previous poster has said, I would look into renting a house instead. There are really lots of housing projects with houses of various sizes on streets leading off from the lake and a few, like Siam Lake View, Mabprachan Gardens, Palm Lakeside, and others that are right next to the lake.

What's great is the wide number of housing projects also have a wide variety of houses for rent--from smaller bungalows to large pool villas. And, in just about all price ranges. There is often a lot of traffic on the road that goes around the lake so I would recommend getting some distance off the road.

I would start by maybe doing a search on Facebook Marketplace using Mabprachan house for rent. I did a quick search and saw listings from 18,000 baht a month to 160,000 baht a month--and a number in between the two. That's what I mean by a variety of pricing. A fair number should come with a private pool.

You could also work with one of the local realtors--some of the largest are Coastal, East Coast, Gecko, Alan Bolton, Prestige, and FazWaz but there are a number of others. I believe Gecko and East Coast have offices on the Darkside. Good luck with your search.

Those houses have 2–3 bedrooms, way too much for a keep-to-myself kind like me. Anyway, thanks for the reply.
