You see you wonder why you are unpopular with down votes. In the pub your posts are ok until you get in some long boring back and forward. But on politics it's you and others with posts like this that are such a turn off. That's my opinion.

For posting facts. Albo is a scumbag. He doesnt care about pensioners and poor people. Food is a rip off. Fuel is a rip off. Power is a rip off.

Lefties were cool in the 70s. Now they spew hate online, on tv and radio. They went from hippies to big pharma fans and from free speech to cancel culture.

Bob Hawke was the last lefty leader with principles. He left office in 1991. Since then endless lefty hypocrites and gas bags.

I don't get why that would be the conclusion without you providing context, say some useful facts or information to make sense of it, e.g. what they did wrong, why other policies of major parties are better, comparison to other countries like the US on treatment of the elderly for example might be of interest. But Albo is a scumbag doesn't really give much to go with.

You have to think for yourself. I can't do it for you.

Generally I like Bill. He is one of the few on the left who actually has right wing guests on his show, and also on his podcast. But he DOES do one thing that p!sses me off. It reminds me of Jon Stewart- just like Stewart, Bill does the "clown nose on, clown nose off" routine. He shifts back and forth from being serious to "I'm just a comedian" depending on the situation. When he or one of his lefty guests are being questioned, he goes for a cheap laugh instead of engaging the issue.

He was also laughably wrong last week when criticizing the Sec of the Interior, Doug Burgum. Either Bill or his writers didnt know the difference between carbon MONoxide and carbon DIoxide. And that neither is simply called "carbon". Worst part of all, his audience didn't catch it either. They clapped along like obedient seals.

Maher talks over his guests on the podcast too much. Rogan never does that.

I watch Maher every week. He criticizes the right far more than he does the left. And rightfully so, as the right is so much more f'd up. And he says that all the time.

The cherry picking of his comments to support MAGA idiocy is nonsense.

Obviously you forgot to read the original post where he didn't cherry pick.

Maher believes the left now prioritizes ideological purity over practical governance and coalition-building, making it harder to defeat what he views as a more dangerous right-wing threat.

I disagree with Maher on this and tend to believe the far left is more dangerous and inhibits the democrats from focussing on real dangers of the far right.

Guess you didn't notice the border being shut down and haven't noticed record low fuel prices. How about no tax on tips. Do you consider this to be a right wing policy?

No tax on tips is a good thing, Trump has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with lower fuel prices, and the border being sealed shut is putting tens of thousands of American companies out of business, and making it much more difficult to for a lot of companies to find sufficient labor as immigrants do work that Americans simply do not want to do. But, we all know that.

I saw the show. Why would I need somebody to interpret what was said?

Are you saying some companies depend on an illegal workforce?

Reread what I posted and if you can't figure it out, I can accept that :)

1000s of American companies depend on an illegal workforce, I'm surprised you don't know that. Getting a legal visa for relatively unskilled labor is an incredibly difficult task. If you want to discuss illegal immigration then we also needed to discuss the immigration system, the extent to which it's broken, and the fact that the quota system is outdated by 70 years.

Agree but the solution wasn't to fling open the southern border or impede ICE from doing it's job. This is not the way to fix a broken system.

I agree the way to fix a broken system is to address legal immigration, which neither party seems to have any interest in discussing especially the GOP.
