Outrageous. You grab a four seat table at nine in the morning, sit there alone with a coffee, and that is basically your property now for as long as you want it. No one else allowed within two meters

Did you consider using the edit feature found on most forums to avoid posting gibberish and making yourself look foolish, before subjecting the rest of us to it?

Thais hate sharing lifts and seats on buses. They are still worried about covid.

Some Thais prefer to sit by themselves or with other Thais, usually the older crowd, but most will share a seat with anyone, including foreigners, as I've taken buses and vans all the years I've lived here and seen this happen. Again, like anywhere, it's about prejudice.

Mostly about covid and flus. Nothing to do with anything else.

Do you often meet men in a toilet cubicle ?

Must be a pretty boy then

Restaurants sit you most of the time, both here and back home. Again, small street shops you sit yourself. I've shared tables with many Thais here, in many cities and villages.

Not in Thailand. You sit wherever you want unless posh or limited options.

Oh you are funny aren't you

I record all my times I do everything it's called time management

I have just finished gym and swimming pool from 5.16am to 612am and it's now going in my diary along with what time I woke up etc

It is not time management, it is obsession with time and writing everything down. WHY?

Well you could be too ..if you got out of that chair sitting on ASEAN forum all day .

As I have suggested before there should be some 24 hours counselling line available for people who are addicted to the ASEAN forum..

We can all take turns volunteering to man it

Imagine ringing up and getting Gamma Gobulin on the other end as the counselor

Mostly to do with prejudice. Many if not most aren't wearing masks. Thais that do still aren't up to speed on Covid and what it takes to spread the disease. They'll wear a mask on a scooter and then sit next to 10 people eating, sharing sticky rice and glasses, Lao Khao shot glasses and the like. They'll wear a mask on a bus then sit 10 in the back of a pickup going to work without masks.

Education on things here is random and often wrong, which is why you'll see some wearing masks and many not. Many never watch TV and only go by what's heard on speakers in the morning village talks.

Some will sit in a restaurant, coming in with a mask on, then take it off to eat, surrounded by 20 other people eating. Poor training and education from higher ups, and a prejudiced attitude towards foreigners some have, again mostly the older crowd.

Went to 2 restaurants yesterday. Picked my own table.

Yes in Thailand, as I've eaten in restaurants all over Thailand and most will sit you at a table. Some will say sit wherever you want. It does depend on how up scale a restaurant is but not always. Again, the thousands of small noodle and street shops you sit where you want. Pretty much the same in the west also.

They only seat the dumb people who stand at the front waiting for help. What most people do is walk in and pick their own table. Thais pick their own tables.

Each restaurant is different. Nothing to do with dumb people as it's the restaurant's discretion.

Staff don't care unless it is posh. You are talking out of your backside.

If you think this is Thailand you are not up to speed. You are in Isaan Fred and life is so different, very unlikely to see any of this in BKK.

You really need to get out and see what Thailand really is. Please dont come back with, " I have been all over Thailand", yeah maybe you have but not for long enough. I have not seen much of anything you post while living here in Central Thailand. Get your daughter back to the US of A.

I'm speaking from 50+ years of experience, likely eating at many more restaurants of all types and in both places than you'll ever do. You're arguing because it's what you do, and it has nothing to do with your experience. When a person says they've experienced something, you aren't in a position to argue, as that's what they experienced, and when they say it's hundreds of times, that's quite a bit of experience to pull from.

You lived in Thailand for 50 years? Amazing. You sound like a guy who has never been.

I've been to many major cities, 20 or more, in Thailand, including Bangkok. It still depends on the scale of the restaurant. I'm not talking about noodle shops or roadside cafes but restaurants. When I say I've been seated many times, it's what happened. There are thousands of restaurants all over Thailand, and all are not the same. 8+ years isn't a short time. I don't just stay in my village all this time but traveled all over, with both my ex and my girlfriend. This is my experience. You might experience different in different restaurants. Of course it's not exactly the same back in the west because it's a poorer nation here, with a lot more lower scale places to eat. I've been seated many times, and also picked my own table.

Best to read all of what someone says and not skim, as that's the result.

You don't know the first thing about Thailand.

No, I speak from experience. You brag about visiting 100 cities yet can't name one restaurant you've eaten at in any city. I probably know more about Thailand than you, seeing you likely don't even live here. Look at your reputation here, and ask yourself why no one believes you.

Only if you wait at the front with a stunned look on your face. Thais just walk in and pick a table.

I doubt you have ever been to Thailand. You don't know anything.

Go to Bangkok and visit some restaurants. You might learn something about the real world.
