No. UK too expensive. Returned back. This time to Cambodia as a permanent residence. Siam Reap. Has found Pattaya more "exiting" than Siam Reap. Obviously. Judging by his recent posts here.

This is exactly why I started the Just Can't Quit Pattaya Fan Club.

I obviously haven't been following Simon's life journeys close enough of late. What happened to his plans to live in Mauritious and Cyprus?

And I say "finally " because despite sending them pictures of the graffiti etc they still didn't get back to me until I contacted my local Member of Parliament in Australia who must of contacted them because they agreed to meet me

Australian MPs are always willing to interject about graffiti complaints in foreign countries, and local authorities quickly fall in line if they know what's good for them.

The Airbnb CEO is not alone in thiking you're special!

I stay away from grumpy people. I allways stay in centrum there..never at the beach. Anyway its a quiet place compared to Bangkok and much cheaper food and drinks.

I just woke up on this beautiful day in Pattaya , I went to bed early last night slept like a baby at up at 4am

It's still dark outside and I unfortunately can hear motorbikes roaring past

,I will move from here tommrrw to a quieter location and have wrote a few emails to Airbnb CEO , who were kind enough to assist me with a quieter Airbnb in another location and will even pay for my Grab there to transport me , I'm so happy now

I want to be where I was last year up near universal gym near the mosque up near that highway so I can hear the beautiful call to morning prayer

But I just wanted to say despite the roaring sounds of traffic going past what a beautiful day it is in Pattaya and for those party poopers who said a few years ago that Pattaya was dying , you are very wrong

I guess this time 4am , people are coming home from work unlike Australia where they will be going to work ,that's why it's noisy

Pattaya is getting busier and more people coming in , the only downside which I'm investigating is the pedestrian access which I'm researching

Last year I had to write complaints about the graffiti on Thappraya road that I saw on the roller shutters, .

I did meet with a clerk from the Pattaya city council about it .. finally,

And I say "finally " because despite sending them pictures of the graffiti etc they still didn't get back to me until I contacted my local Member of Parliament in Australia who must of contacted them because they agreed to meet me ..finally..although they kept me in the waiting room over an hour but were great when I seen the engineering department supervisor

I believe it was cleaned about a week later , although I'm told it's back !

Anyway thankyou to the Airbnb CEO who approved my transport costs to another Airbnb and even arranged had a special person on staff to help me find a new quieter Airbnb with sunlight ,he personally wrote to me to say I'm considered a "special" customer

I just wanted to say I'm having a beautiful day waking up in Pattaya, yes it's still dark ,but at 530am I will go for a swim

Im just having my coffee , and writing in my daily diary all the items I purchased from 711 ,I like to itemise this so I know how many toothpaste etc I bought over this holiday period

Pattaya is not dying off ,it's getting busier , I predict apartment will skyrocket here soon

Even build a casino

Itemise your what? toothpaste? you need therapy dude

According to his posts here, he made quite a few stop-overs. None of them worked out for him. Therefore back to S/E Asia.

I like the guy. After all, he may well be able to continue his charitable work in "sin-city".

I've noted Simon's life adventures through this forum for a couple of decades. He has never shied away from sharing his, always interesting, successes and travails. He's related his volunteer work with tourism and after the tragic plane crash on Phuket. He's had difficulties getting permission to erect hobby radio towers in many locations, but I recall one in Phuket that assisted with ground radar at the airport. He built, and moved on from, several airport hotels and at times has (over) shared his marriage woes with the forum.

Readers who pay attention know about his academic qualifications, surgeries and satellite builds. These days he's seems more into teaching and travel.

He's one of the foundation members of Thai Visa, Possibly the last one from 2003 still posting. I regard him as one of the more interesting posters of all, and has the highest IQ here. Over the years I have teased him a little, but he never takes umbrage, or perhaps notice!

I hope he finds the right place to settle into.

I agree with the above 100%. Like I said before, I like the guy and his ways. He deserves praise. I wish him luck. He deserves it. May he find a corner in this world that gives him solace and inner peace, making it unnecessary to chase another rainbow, thousands of miles away.
