Red void stamp in passport

Featured Replies

Hello,

After a answer. As cant find one on internet unless i am looking in the wrong place. I overstayed my visa by 13 days last November. I paid the fine when i left bkk airport to return back to my country and work. But immigration put a red stamp in my Passport what says void. Is this something i should be worried about ? Also i know i should not have overstayed and this was the first time. Any advice to be given/

cheers

Was it a VOID stamp over your entry stamp like this?

You are definitely more likely to come under scrutiny, be questioned, and denied entry than someone with a similar visa history who doesn't have such a stamp.

Now might be the time to get a new passport.

What are asking.

Overstay stamps are very common.

If you have concerns then use "safe entry service"

That would not be required however an option for approx 4k

Your VOID stamp means that an immigration official put a wrong stamp there and then voided it. None of the blanks have been filled in.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

So it is nothing to worry about then ? As my post mentioned. Thanks for most of the replies

Looks like they put that red stamp in your passport to ban you from re-entering Thailand, then they realized that they did so in error, as your overstay was too short to warrant a ban. So they voided that stamp.

It's certainly an eyesore that might raise a few eyebrows when you have future interactions with immigration.

Thanks again. Will find out in May if ok as going home again to see my daughter and grandkids

Good catch @Maestro

Yep it is indeed a bad stamp by immigrations that they voided.

Nothing to do with the voided entry stamp image I posted.

The stamp in their passport shouldn't cause any more scrutiny than normal.

It doesn't help at the border when entering the country, but the embassies (unless something has changed recently) are/were not connected to the immigration database. So it helps with getting a visa. In the past, it was usually possible to get around 6 or 7 TV until they put a red stamp under your visa, saying that you have been doing this for too long and that they might (meaning will) refuse your application next time. That's when I always got a new passport and was able to start over again

The embassies are under the foreign secretary, not part of immigration.

TV (tourist visas) are e-visas and with the exception of Laos the Thai embassies don't get your passport into their hands and therefore cannot put a stamp in it saying that next time they might not give you a new tourist visa.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place
