I like the shark tatt but the neck one looks so skanky.

Each to their own, my friend.

In any case, being Thai, she would still be able to enter the kingdom, even under scubascuba3's ruthless autocratic rule.

What an idiotic statement, I have a couple of tattoo's, never had an issue with the law in my life and you want me banned?

He has a fixation on tattooed people, and he's a whoremonger in his 50s. Not that I have anything against that, but it does put things into perspective.

So one person with lots of tatts wins a cooking show means what?

Deflecting much? I am just saying not everybody who has tattoos is bad and no I don't have any tattoos.

He acts very strange. Pattaya has lots like him.

I don't think tatts mean much at all. Just personal taste like clothes.

The only problem with tatts being so popular is the theme of the tatts. What's with all the tribal patterns?

Looking at it from a sociological angle, until the mid-2010s, they were, in one way or another, a way to distinguish oneself, for better or for worse. Over the past decade, they have become a symbol of conformism and social validation. I have several visible tattoos myself, and yet I cringe when I see yet another youngster flaunting the obligatory tribal design, flower or Asian motivational script.

In 2026, rebellion against the norm probably implies being a clean-cut conservative…

It is like hippies and dreadlocks. Dumb people copied each other to be cool and then all looked the same.

Tattoos are OK unless they are gang ID

Good point. Ted Bundy was as squeaky clean as they come, and, on a personal level, the most ruthless b*tch I have ever encountered in Thailand is a soft-spoken, untattooed woman who never set foot in a bar. Ah, stereotypes…

Generalisations are generally right

Her neck one is very cool. You see, that's the broader issue, some tattoos look great, others are average, and some are terrible. She looks great IMO:

She'd look even better without tattoos

Vs lots of guys here with zero sex drive

Women look for guys who have tats and piercings as #1 Husband material.

The rationale is that these men are able to endure lots of pain and spend money buying jewelry.

A couple of tattoos is fine, you're making some sort of statement or maybe you just like tattoos. I think the majority of the anti tattoo crusaders are talking about people who have significant portions of their body covered with tattoos, sometimes including the neck and the face.

A couple of tattoos that can be easily hidden, no issues. Full body tattoos are pretty extreme, certainly it's personal choice but nobody who has major full body tattoos can simply assume that there will not be repercussions from society.

And I seriously doubt that anybody would be turned down and immigration for having a few tattoos. Perhaps the guy who was rejected was a Chinese Triad or a Bratva member?

Even though there many tattooed Thai people, but it counts as a not really good thing. One of questions of investigators for criminal courts is if you have any tattoos or cut on your body. Go figure 🤔

And seeing that the majority of hookers here have at least one tattoo, why would you be turned off, especially if those are the women you're targeting?

I would think usually those whom also have tattoos. #1 husband material is finding someone you trust, is honest, faithful and can provide for them and any children. Tattoos and piercings aren't as much pain as raising children.

I reckon most of these tattoo guys should spend their money on a gym membership not tattoos, or less tattoos and more gym membership.

You reminded me Chevy Chase movie, Fletch 😂🤣

I think it's a good idea, often trouble makers have tattoos, just look in prisons. Somehow Thailand needs to raise standards, increasing costs won't do it as criminals have money, i propose a tattoo ban and criminal record check, who agrees?

I would agree about the tattoo ban if it was a lot of tattoo's and not just the odd one, the reason being that these people would have a low IQ wanting to deliberately disfigure themselves. Again all these dumbasses would have to do is wear long trousers and a log sleeved shirt.

NO ENTRY:

  1. GITS

  2. MUGS

  3. MUPPETS

  4. TOSSERS

  5. BELL ENDS

  6. PLONKERS

  7. NUMPTIES

Done. Only snag is that would probably also wipe out two thirds of the AN forum.

Only two thirds?

The OP provided a useful public service, which is bringing more eyeballs to a for profit website. Nobody is ever going to change anyone’s mind about anything, whether the subject is tatts, Trump, climate change or religion. Everyone, however, is entitled to an opinion, which is what makes a Forum.

I think people can deface their one and only body in whatever manner they wish, but that doesn’t mean others cannot have an opinion. I personally dislike tatts, finding them noisy and frankly, quite ugly. I’ve never seen a person who wouldn’t look better without them. Seriously, who thinks their tatts look good? Who thinks people look at arms and legs slathered with random and unrelated tatts and thinks, “Wow, that looks so cool”? Tatts look silly, like a NASCAR driver who can’t take off his suit. Tatt aficianados will have a different view. Good for them.Takes all types to make a market.

Many try to argue tatts are "art". Frankly, I don't think I'll ever see any hanging in the Louve. Maybe they are art the same way Tigers Painted on Black Velvet or Dogs Playing Poker are art. Maybe in a wild stretch of the term, tatts are art like Marcel Duchamp's urinal is art: the ordinary lifted to the status of art by the creator's choice.

Up to the bearer, but when I see tatts I think of that unpleasant word "sheeple". Tatts were around, though worn by a tiny minority, for thousands of years, but only when they became a fad did the betas jump on board. I do think the fad is passing, as tatts are now embraced by the aging fat guys clad in cargo shorts and a Chang wifebeater, apparently in the hope they become a babe magnet. A gym membership likely pays more dividends, but again, up to the individual.

Thailand already bans some types of tattoos, reminding people that Buddha images are unacceptable as tatts. Maybe just expand the ban a bit? For the sake of geometry and theology? (Gamma will get the reference)

Since the OP suggested tatts be banned from entry, perhaps we can also add smokers and fat people, both of which are choices with gross negatives?

The real bottom line is Thailand isn’t ever going to ban anything noted in this funny thread. But the good news is that the thread did attract eyeballs and help the site’s bottom line.

What complete and utter blx. I'm an 81 yoa family man with children, great grandchildren and great grandchildren. Been in full time employment until retirement age. Never been in trouble with the police, yet have a few tattoos, most of which I got as a young man. I've known many fine upstanding educated men of means with tattoos and more than a few complete a-holes without tattoos. My wife says that the king has many tattoos and you can't get any higher in the social order than king, can you?! Would you stop a king from entering a country because he has a few tatts?

I don't much like Tattoos, but it's freedom of speech without using your voice. I support that right 100-200%. The person that got them had their own reason. I stand up for them to get all they want.
