I very rarely like to attending such events as I don't like crowds and people pushing and jostling , people have a tendency to walk into me

By what I can gather , and please enlighten me ,is the Pattaya music festival is apparently Thai music and may I add , apparently it's weekends only, I'm told next weekend is in Jomtien beach

Did anyone go last weekend for the start of the music festival?

I am thinking about asking to be invited , I won't go unless they invite me

I started laughing before I saw your comment, and then continued.

Oh please, this is a serious topic I have posted for serious intelligent replies

As we all know the Pattaya music festival is on

, I may have to go down to City Hall tommrrw which I was planning to do anyway to hand them the list of graffiti sites I have logged

But all I wanted to know is anyone had attended the opening

I had no idea it was on. I would expect a music festival there would be packed.

You are invited, now toddle along. Mind that the locations change for this 3 weekend long event. Probably Jomtien this weekend. I hear it is mixed genres of music,

So total gridlock for 3 more weekends! Another reason to not venture from the Dark Side.

Last weekend, seemed a lot quieter than past years.

Preferred it when it was all over the one weekend, with several venues, which gave it a festival feel.

Great seeing Da Endorphine again last Friday.

Agreed. Traffic Friday and Saturday night seemed lighter than many recent weekends.

I know you're trying to make some kind of effort at being lyrical or being somehow poetic but I usually find that your posts don't make much sense.

In general I do agree with you about crowds, I remember when I was in my twenties I would seek out crowds. I would go to the opening of a movie in Times Square when I lived in New York and sit in a theater with 2500 people that was completely sold out, and found that quite exciting. I guess as we get older we change and I do not like crowds anymore, I go out of my way to avoid them. I don't really do lines anymore, two or three minutes maximum and then I walk. If I go to a restaurant I see a line and I walk, if I go to the Post Office and see a big line I walk, there's just a certain amount of value that has to be put in our time at the stage of uur lives, and that doesn't allow for long lines or big crowds. For me at least.

I went last year four stages, great music! really good and really crowded. This year bubble gum manufactured music, backstreet boy style or whatever. one stage, a few bored people lingering about it sucked. I go to the one in Japan this weekend see if it's any better

I attended this event way back in 2005. The stage was near the Bali Hai pier and the headline performer was Tata Young.

I'm more into rock and metal. Anything like that at this festival?

I understand what you are saying, I don't like restaurant/post office queues either. That said, I've been to big music festivals (100k plus people) and where I live can be pretty crowded. But I don't seem to mind that too much.

I went to a couple of cannabis festivals in Bangkok last year and they just weren't as good either. Maybe Thais aren't going out as much now. It's too bad because in the past it was a lot of fun.

Well the next couple are in Naklua and Jomtien so I hope that mean Pattaya will escape the worst of it. Big-CX was getting busy really early last weekend.
