Yet another forum rule you have broken.

I wonder what your new username will be, as I can see khaosokman disappearing in the very near future.

You claimed a poor deceased guy was rich without reading the story.

  • It takes 5 seconds to post on here. Shame there are not more good posters. Lots of nuts like you and Trump haters.

  • Funny how the emoji losers don't like beaches and gym. What do they do in Thailand? One wonders.

Too late for the puerile comments. You have already been reported. Bye bye.

Harrisfan is officially irrelevant.

I am not going to address anyone directly because I do not want anyone to feel like a jilted lily, but I have noticed something interesting about my own forum reading habits. For one, I read far more than I post. Often I do not even log in to scan through a few topics, and if someone averages about a dozen posts a day, I tend to skip right over anything they write.

It did not start that way. At first I just noticed certain posters who write extremely long posts waffling on about their personal lives, their lifestyle habits, and their deeply detailed view of the world, usually containing far more personal information than anyone would ever ask for on an anonymous forum. Then there are the snarky smug types who appear in nearly every popular thread like a mosquito at a picnic, dropping a little off topic jab that is of no use at all and apparently hilarious to them, but no one else.

Eventually I started paying attention to the usernames I was automatically scrolling past. A pattern emerged. Many of them are obsessive posters who seem to appear in every popular thread, sometimes firing off three or four replies in rapid succession, arguing, bickering, hijacking, and generally poppycocking their way across the forum. Sometimes it even starts to feel like certain threads have quietly turned into a two man conversation where two of these regulars are going at each other and everyone else is just sitting back and rolling their eyes.

Which got me thinking that there might actually be an unwritten forum law at work here. Somewhere around the 10 to 20 posts per day mark, a strange phenomenon occurs where the human brain simply stops reading anything written by that person. In fact, the opposite of what they probably intended starts to happen. The more they post, the less one really notices what they say.

It also makes me wonder what the daily routine behind it all looks like. Do these chaps go to bed at night thinking about what threads they will tackle again in the morning? Do they sit down with a coffee at sunup and settle in for another solid eight to ten hour shift of forum duty? And at the end of the day do they lean back in their chair feeling chuffed, like they have really put in a productive day’s work? Do they feel like they are leading fulfilling and satisfying lives and that they have found their true source of happiness? Or are they oblivious to what they are doing? Many do not even seem to reside in Thailand, so I am just trying to get my head around the mindset here. Presumably there is no self loathing going on and it never occurs to them that they could be doing more productive things with their time.

Well, I keep it simple now. If someone shows up everywhere posting like it is a full time occupation, I just skip their posts entirely. It is nothing personal. It is simply an efficiency strategy.

Apparently the secret to being read more on a forum is surprisingly simple. Have something useful to say and post less. lol.

I guess I have a short attention span ... this post was waaaay too long for me. sorry.

I haven't seen Harrisfan around but there's a new poster called khaosokman who has a large negative reputation score, is very prolific, is rude to anyone who disagrees with him and complains that some people on the forum are not nice people (apparently completely oblivious of his own actions).

Does this remind you of anyone?

No clue who or what you are talking about. That word sounds a bit like a virus. Can you provide a bit more detail on your question?

You have a built in protective mechanism preventing you from filling your brain with too much useless bs.

That's good.

Well said. I think if you are say 55 + male and either live in Thailand, or like going to Thailand or have thai partners, you are likely to have something in common with those on this site even if it is not always readily apparent.

But it can be like if you sat at a park bench and someone sat next to you and had a chat - if they give you too much personal information, are too strong in their opinion or righteousness, or if they have the same whinge time and time again, try and be too quirky or show they have money or similar, or make statements clearly designed to be rude or troll you'll shortly give them the flick. Here you can engage a bit or not. Down side is it's clearly impersonal - many prominent posters disappear - had enough, dead, who knows.

I actually though the op along with So Cal 1990 and others were paid posters at one point because they all appeared at the same time - June 2024, have numbers in their name, and write in a certain style - but maybe not.

How many unique members? Thats a good one,

You got those where this is the only thing they do, while others do many things while them are here, and have this as a distraction, where every days news is the same and you cant discuss it or went your thoughts, annoyance or frustration. Not to your friends, not the the random next to you on the bench.

And it happens more and more frequently when you randomly meet people, they give to much information and have to strong opinions, and to sure about everything. Maybe it works in a bar after a few beers when everyone around you willing to solve the world problems, but honestly, it is a killer for long lasting friendships if that was the thing they searched for.

Maybe it is our age, where most is becoming the grumpy old man with a past life that was ages ago. Who knows.

Still I hope most here do not act like they do here in the real world and life.

People needs more positivity in their lives, but that takes some personal effort and work.

In the mean time, enjoy the ride, it will stop sooner or later, so make the best out of it while you can.

One of yesterday’s small moments when you discover your latest Lazada buy, was actually great quality and you ordered one more, and even thought about bying 3 more just in case.

Look out for a new name with same bile filled, hatred spewing troll.

One day delivery for my second, and it did actually fit on top without to much trouble. Small things big ,,,,,,,,

I do not understand people can wake up and go straight in to negative modus. Another day with a day you never will get back! When it is gone, ,,,,,,, its used, but you can maybe give your more time with some positivity and discipline. Worth reminding ourselves everytime needed, every morning

Looks like a rainwater harvesting system, now that would definitely put a smile on your face every morning not being reliant on anyone else for your water, here's mine.

You gotta leak. :)

And...... the responses have decended exactly in the direction that the original post discusses- personal bickering and name calling between the same few individuals. We humans are so predictable.

No sign of Susan so far, though that probably won't last long. But if she is rebranding again, I figured her shirt should keep up. I am working on a new design for her now, brighter colors and everything. Just waiting to find out what new name goes across the bottom so I can finalize the layout for her.
