September 25, 200718 yr I live in Thailand and want to take a trip to Cambodia sometime. Apparently there are no ATMs? Anyway US dollars are the think to carry. I could buy some here with baht but I don't want to carry too much cash so I heard traveller's checks are a good way to go. Is there a place to buy US dollar traveler's checks in Thailand? If not, are there baht ones, and would those be OK in Cambodia?
September 26, 200718 yr hmm .. plenty of ATMs now , the last time i checked .. You may take baht & use it to buy USD , which is universal legal tender in Cambo ( btw, ATMs there disperse USD) .. U may have to pay some commision on cashing USD checks thou, never tried before..
September 26, 200718 yr Jingthing you will find this link very useful for locating ATM's. ANZ Royal Bank is 55% Australian owned and is doing big business in Cambodia now. You won't need travellers checks, just bring your ATM card and CLICK ON THIS LINK to find ATM locations, cheers.
