Scb Park Plaza

Featured Replies

After some info abt SCB Park Plaza, where is it in BKK and what is the surrounding area like ? Also will need to rent accom round this place, Iam wanting a house 3-4 bed with pool & garden - is this possible in this area or is it predominantly condo accom? any good sound advise much appreciated.

I believe that is in Chatujak, Lard Yao. It's a fairly built-up area of Bangkok, and except for the market, not a tourist area. I lived there a few years ago and the area has all the amenities you'd want but I thought the air quality was pretty poor, even for Bangkok. (The main airport was near there at that time though.)

The most famous building in the area is the Elephant Building, which looks like an elephant or a big "M" depending on how you look at it. Surin Place (IIRC) is another condo building in the area. Both have a pool but are not houses. There are a few moobarn type places to rent a house, but there seem to be many more condos than houses. It is possible to rent a house as well, but they have been known to have break-ins at times and it would be wise to hire security if you don't live in a moobarn or condo.

It is mainly a Condo area, with Surin opposite SCB, and Supalai a little further down the road. There are also a number of new develoments in and around the SCB area, but these are all condo's. Probably, your best option would be to take a walk around the area and look at the various adverts for places available for rent and get a feel for the area.

There are some nice Moobans around, such as in Soi 37 and 41, and the prices are fairly reasonable.

SCB Park Plaza is on the junction known as RatchaYothin.

Predictably named from Ratchadapisek and Phahon Yothin.

There are quite a lot of houses within a reasonable distance from there.

Cheers
