Immigration Office Holidays For New Years Time?

Featured Replies

Monday 31 December: Open or not?

Tuesday 1 January: Open or not?

Nobody?

31st closed. 1st closed. Just been told by my lawyer. Surely there is info. on this site. If not isn't that rather naff.

Is it open on the 30th?

30th is a Sunday, so closed.

Ah yes, Is it open at any time on Sat 29th? Solicitor cocked up my paperwork.

It is open Saturday morning for some business. Do not believe one year extension staff are available however. You can figure they will be closed on any official holiday.

I guess it's a bit late now. But having been there today, I can confirm it is closed on Saturday, at least that's what the clerk who dealt with me said.

Normally, it is open on saturdays as described above.

forgot to mention.

If like me you wanted to go there to extend a visa or complete 90 day rule before expiration on, say, the 1st, my understanding is that you will not be classified as an overstay providing the matter is completed on the 2nd. Thereafter normal rules apply.

Again this is what the desk clerk told me and what my solicitor also thought. So good grounds to believe it.
